Just Stupid

The lefty media has been giggling like schoolgirls over this story – a Texas waitress, who got not one but two $2000 tips from Rush Limbaugh – and gave the money to a pro-infanticide group:

“That was like blood money to me,’ Tierce told The Dallas Morning News.

Tierce was the former executive director at the Texas Equal Access Fund, which provides money to women who can’t afford to get abortions.

She was the “executive director” of a nonprofit that provided infanticide to poor women, AND a waitress?

Anyway…;

Tierce said it felt right to her to give the money to the TEA Fund.

‘It felt like laundering the money in a good way,’ she told the newspaper.

‘He’s such an obvious target for any feminist or sane person.

Yeah, Ms. Tierce seems pretty sane to me.

The part that I get the chuckle over? Ms. Tierce, and the media bobbleheads who’ve been reporting the story, keep saying that Ms. Tierce “gave Limbaugh’s money” to the infanticide charity.

No!

When Limbaugh left the tip – of his own free will, mind you, not as part of some “living wage” wealth transfer – it became her money.

She gave her own money to her own group.

This story isn’t “Man bites dog”. It isn’t even “dog sniffs dog”. It’s “Deeply morally ugly woman gives her own money to a group she used to run, while taking a snotty, stupid swipe at someone who has the temerity to “share the wealth” of his own free will, rather than at government gunpoint”.

The part that I find funny is for all the times you hear stories of an important person sports star or movie star for giving a cheap tip that we’re talking about a tip of $2,000. Rush gets attacked for not respecting women yet here he goes and gives a tip that is very generous so they decided to attack the person who gave the tip just because of what he does not because he’s cheap.

  2. Did our Democrat Party Dominated Media Culture betters headline the story with something along the lines of…
“Adorbz: Warrior Totes Pwn3s Limpballs: Gives Wingnut Blood Money to Womyn’s Healthcare”, and feature pictures of cats?

  3. MFA and working in retail and waitressing. Yeah, I get why she looks grouchy in her picture. And I wonder what her husband, presumably on the hook for part of her school debts, thinks about her giving away a couple months worth of payments?

Did anyone check out the picture of her pro-infanticide group? Worth 1000 words, none of them repeatable in polite company.

  4. If Limbaugh ever gives me a fat stack, I’ll use it to send infanticide loving wymen on all inclusive vacations to Syria.

  5. I’ve listened to Rush a few times over the years. He doesn’t comment on abortion much, does he?

  6. She gave the tip money AFTER paying income tax withholding, right?

Just think, she could have converted the money to pennies and then dumped them all over Mark Dayton’s desk now that he supports the tip credit exemption.

  7. Paul,

Limbaugh is famous for giving extravagant tips. Waitstaff in NYC report he’s given $5,000 tips for $200 meals.

He’s a popular guy – among staff for whom pragmatism trumps ideology.

  8. In other words, Limbaugh gives more in tips after a meal than most Democrats give in charitable donations for a year…….

  9. Pow:

Limbaugh when he does comment on abortion says it wrong. I think what has the lib ladies so angry at him is because he had called Sandra Fluke a “slut” and he does say giving away free birth control (the way Obama wants to do it) is wrong.

  10. Those who receive certain government entitlements cannot receive them once they have $2000 in assets at one time. That is, once they hit the $2000 mark they have to report it and lose the benefit. Perhaps that may have spurred her moment of generosity?

  11. Limbaugh’s remarks on abortion are concerned mostly with its ill effects on American culture than on abortion as moral evil:

So one of the reasons for amnesty is to replace the 52 million people aborted. I just want to tell you something. I really think that abortion is at the root — you could do a flowchart — I think abortion is at the root of so much that has and is going wrong in this country. I think that the number of abortions themselves, but what in toto it all means, culturally, in terms of the sanctity of life, how that’s crumbled, I think it’s almost at the root of everything. And if it’s not at the root of everything, it’s clearly had a profound impact on our culture, our society, and our politics, I think in ways that people don’t even stop to consider.

None of it good and it’s caused all kinds of horrible problems that nobody knows how to fix. Because they refuse to even accept that abortion is more than what it is. To most people, it’s just a woman’s right to choose, and it’s nobody’s business, and leave it alone and I don’t want to talk about it. But it’s really had much more impact on this country than just that. It’s had impact on crime. It’s had a profound impact on our politics. It is at the root of our cultural rot and decay.

I doubt if what Limbaugh has said regarding abortion is out of the mainstream. Anyhow, issues like abortion aren’t what Limbaugh focuses on. His usual shtick is anti-elitism, especially the tendency of the political elite to shift rights and privileges to themselves from the non-elites. “You don’t decide what books your kid reads at school, some pointy-headed bureaucrat in DC — who send his kid to a private school you could never afford — is choosing what books your kid will read at school” is more Rush’s style.

  12. Maybe she’s upset that the two grand will bump her up to a higher tax bracket. Oh wait, sorry, she’s a Dem and is all for paying higher taxes for a better (insert state here). And sorry again, she’s a Dem, so she probably wouldn’t report that two grand on her taxes.
