I sometimes feel like I don’t quite fully exist during the off-season, because it seems like something is missing. I can’t put my finger on it. What is it … what is missing …Oh, that’s right. Baseball on giant television screens in every bar you pass.
I don’t feel totally myself until it all starts up again.
Whew. Let’s wash all that greasy NBA, NHL and NFL out of our hair and get life underway!

Huh. I always thought it was because of the cold and lack of sunlight. Lack of baseball would be a nicer explanation, for some reason.
Too bad both of my teams blew their openers rather spectacularly (and I missed the Twins redeeming themselves last night).

The Amazin’s were more fortunate, Steve G. A gem of a start by Johan Santana (you guys remember him, right?) And in a change from recent precedent, the bullpen actually recorded a save. Can’t remember the last time Angryclown saw one of those. Mighty Mets over Redlegs, 2-1 in Cincy. Lather, rinse, repeat 100 times and we’re on our way to the World Series, baby!

The Twins may have dropped the HO, but after watching a couple of games in Hammond Stadium, I wouldn’t be surprised to see them matched with those Mets for the Series.
