Conservatives: Invariably Smarter

New scientific poll proves that conservatives are better readers than liberals – and this translates into higher general intelligence.

This is, of course, as I’ve always suspected; liberals are big on talking about how intelligent they are, what conservatives usually stick to demonstrating it in their jobs, families, and daily lives.

For all of their babbling about snake-handling and “Faux” News and Christine O’Donnell and the like, any actual conservative dealing with liberals on a daily basis knew this to be a fact, in the pit of their gut.

But that was anecdotal.  This?  This is settled science.

Actually, it’s a riff on this wonderful April fools gag from NPR. And, like NPR. I’m doing it mainly to see if, er, certain parties leave comments without bothering to read or understand the actual point of the post.

Not that I don’t think the initial “point” isn’t entirely true…

  1. Personally, I’d be happy to see a bit less raw intelligence in St. Paul and DC and a little bit more character–I’ll concede that Dear Leader is a genius, for example, as he clearly is one who plays politics like Joshua Bell plays his Strad. That said, I’d be very happy to have an “amiable dunce” in the White House again, one who understands enough economics to understand that adding regulations is a poor way to create jobs.

  2. Back when The Lightworker was running for office, some said that he’d be a great president because he was “a constitutional scholar”.

I pointed out, correctly, that the best president would know about as much about the constitution as a good policeman does; enough to know what she’s NOT supposed to do.
