Employees at a small business get their first look at their insurance under the “Affordable” Care Act.
Watch the whole thing. They look like they went a couple rounds in an MMA cage.
This is what you voted for, America.
And now you must be punished.

These people are in Pennsylvania, which means there’s a 50\50 chance they voted for Barry. I certainly hope that is the case.
“We Have to Pass the Bill So That You Can Find Out What Is In It”
Suck it, Amerika!
I recall gettting into intense discussions with Democrats 3 years ago (or whenever it was) about Obamacare. They said all the law does is require everyone to get health insurance. They disputed my claims that it is much much more than that.
One curse about being a conservative is being right all the time, but never getting liberals to abmit, or even realize, that they are wrong all the time.
Oh, and I purchase my own insurance. I received a notice last month that they are raising my rates due to Obamacare. Specifically I pay more now because the gov’t says I have to purchase insurance for:
-Mental health issues
-In home hospice care
-Pregnency.
I don’t need nor want any of those 3 things.
Mental health is a cluster… to fund with insurance. Huge mess.
Chuck:
-Mental health issues
When government does to mental health care what they’ve done to healthcare for the poor via Medicaid, we’ll really be thankful.
-Pregnancy.
It’s a war on men, I tell you.
In home hospice care
Ditto what I wrote re mental health.
Walt Kowalski had it right. I’ve already picked out an inner-city gang to antagonize when I’m in my 90s.

No, we’ll all go insane. Is that the point?
Perhaps the biggest favor Nancy Pelosi did for the anti-Obamacare case is not allowing people to know what was in it until it passed. People who aren’t ‘wonks’ are now realizing how much more expensive health insurance is going to be due to Obamacare and how unlike most other forms of insurance (like auto and homeowners) the price you pay has little to do with your actual risk (ie: single men and newly married gay men being required to pay for maternity coverage).
The CEO of AOL (still a thing apparently) committed the sin of pointing out how expensive high risk births can be. Pointing out that insuring child bearing age women is a more expensive proposition than similarly aged men is now more ammo for the outrage machine in the #waronwomen.
My employer (who self insures) recently noted that the three emergency room visits we had last year (in a firm with nearly 400 employees) made up nearly 15% of the claims payout in 2013. The response was to jack the deductible for everything and triple the deductible for emergency room visits. One of the visits was my child when our regular physician couldn’t resolve the ailment in her office. Contrary to the news stories you see that only poor folks without insurance use the emergency room, this scenario plays out often and all the premium we (my employers plus my share) have paid through the years with no claims was to cover this. Happens again now and we’re out 3-grand before insurance kicks in with a 60/40 split up to infinity. Thanks Democrats!

I wonder if this is newspeak for “brainwashing.”
Good one, jpa!
Careful there, jpa, you’re a bit too close to reality for those of us who remember when “Progressives” ruled the Soviet Union.
At this rate, we’ll be taxed AND have to pay for our own brainwashing.
JPA’s comment was a gratuitous “detraction.” Brilliant.
Nerdbert, keep in mind that if I remember correctly, JPA remembers very, very well the time when progressive ruled the Soviet Union, because he was there.
I had a friend who went to the Soviet pavilion at a World Fair, walked into their book store, and asked for a couple of books by Solzhenitsyn. Obviously this was not the one in 1959.

Bubba is correct. I, unlike others who spout that Soci@lism is the best system in the world, speak from experience. I was born in the Soviet Union, where you would be sent to the gulag for uttering an innocent joke that “Capitalism is indeed dying, but aroma of decomposition is wonderful to behold.”
