On the bitterly cold Saturday night following Mr. Ryback’s incident, the man/woman DJ team on The Current were exactly as described in the article; almost a reverse image of the North Korean citizens’ reaction to the death of Kim Jong Il. They were reading his incredibly clever tweets, taking song requests related to his situation (“How Do You Mend A Broken Heart” and the like), and were quite giddy over something not really interesting or newsworthy.
I wish Mr. Ryback well and hope for his recovery. However, the behavior of the DJs seemed unabashedly sycophantic and, to me, very creepy. Apparently I wasn’t the sole witness to such bizarre behavior, or hallucinating. I don’t remember if Vice President Cheney’s cardiac health issues received such enthusiastic attention.

Well, they gotta save ol’ RT, because if Dayton implodes, he’s their best current hope, at least until they can build up enough hagiography for the next guy.
