It Verges On A New “Berg’s Law”

What do I always say?

If a liberal talking head – whether it’s Grace Kelly or Martin Bashir – says something about any conservative or conservative group?  Distrust but verify.  And then, having verified and found the claim vaporous, pretty much invariably continue distrusting.

“What?  Even with a Rhodes Scholar like Rachel Maddow?”

Especially with a Rhodes Scholar like Rachel Maddow

  1. The infuriating part is Maddow’s smear reverses the money flow, without admitting it. People donate money TO the parent organization, it doesn’t dole out money BACK to members. It’s not like the United Way, it’s like MPR.

Here, think of it this way: Joe Doakes donated money to The United Way, which gave money to the Boy Scouts, who won’t allow gay scoutmasters. It’s not outrageous to say that some of Joe’s money found its way into the Boy Scouts hands, so Joe is supporting homophobia.

But that’s completely different from this scene: Joe donated money to Minnesota Public Radio. Dog Gone also donated money to MPR. So Joe supports Dog Gone and everything she stands for. No, not at all, that’s completely wrong. We just happen to donate to the same charitable organization.

  2. I’ve watched Maddow. She doesn’t strike me as being any more intelligent than Al Sharpton. If a mediocre person fits a certain profile, the ruling class will lift that person very high, indeed.
According to the wikipedia, her father was a lawyer and her mother a public school administrator. Her degrees are in public policy and government, from Stanford and Oxford. This is not the cv of an outsider, no matter who she sleeps with.
The Left picks up a mirror, looks into it, and declares that they have met their true love.

  3. My name is Ryan Rhodes. Rachel Maddow is a Rhodes Scholar. Therefore, I am directly linked to Rachel Maddow.

Hey, if she can do it, so can I.

  4. Love the fact that MSNBC owner Comcast has roughly the same exposure on this issue as the Koch Bro’s. After their success using the IRS to hamstring their opponents in ’12, this is just more battle space prep from the Left for ’14. It should make good government types like Common Cause, No Labels, etc. sick to their stomachs but it won’t. It will simply get the “both sides do it”, “FOXNEWS!!!1!1” and “ooh, squirrel!” treatment.

  5. Looks like Koch needs to figure out whether Maddow is actively defaming them, and file suit for the same.

And for that matter, I’m personally wondering why the left objects to drug tests for welfare recipients. The left loves Obamacare, so they can’t be telling us anything about love of privacy, and doesn’t the presence of drugs in someone’s system tell us that that person has some resources that might make them ineligible for welfare? And that their plight might not be entirely random?

Or is it simply that our last two Democratic Presidents have been potheads, and they don’t want an arrest record to derail another possible candidate?
