They Know What Matters

Top priorities for Twin Cities Democrat politicians, staff, and media (pardon the redundancy):

Deal with the suddenly-crucial problem of cell phone theft:  “Kill switch” legislation a priority since the Mark Andrew incident.  Because it’s not really an issue until it happens to a DFL politician.  Of course, they’re still going to spend the coming session fighting against the citizen’s write to keep and bear “kill switches” to help prevent thugs from hitting your “kill switch” with a club, knife, or gun.

For heaven’s sake, get Al Franken some cover from that “60th Vote on Medicare” thing:  There’s an election coming up, for Chrissake.  The editors put Kevin Diaz on the “Franken PR Flak” beat this time; his point is, naturally, that there were several “sixtieth votes”, potentially, over time.  Unmentioned; without Franken, all the others were irrelevant.

Cardiac screening is job one!:  OK, not yet.  But I have a hunch with R. T. Rybak’s close call over the weekend, the problem will receive aggressive lip service.

  1. Yea, funny how DFLers always ignore crime until it affects them.

Re the Rybak thing; I predict that they will either a. make it a law that anyone over the age of 45 get cardiac testing, with the penalty for non-compliance being a tax, I mean fine, on the offender or b. ban cross country skiing in Wirth Park.

  2. Franken has nothing to worry about if Ms. Ortman is selected as the GOP senatorial candidate. Like it or not, Franken’s campaign will frame Ms. Ortman as a far right nut–job. As such, Ortman won’t attract the conservative DFLers and Independents that a GOP candidate would need in order to beat Franken. She may be the darling of the Tea Party but she won’t cross over and beat Franken.

  3. Franken’s campaign will frame Ms. Ortman as a far right nut–job.

Franken’s campaign would frame Zombie Harold Stassen as a far right nut-job. Everyone who is not a DFLer is, by definition, a far right nut-job.

  4. The local media in alliance with the Demonic Farm Labor party will always frame the Republican Candidate as a far Right nut job. Doesn’t matter what that person’s positions actually are.

  5. Emery,

    What D and JP said.

If Tom Horner – the “moderate” of the last election – came back and somehow got the GOP endorsement, the media and DFL (ptr) would frame him as a nut-job.

  6. Today’s St Paul PP, the more moderate of the two papers, has a multi-column hit piece on the evil Koch Brothers. Bizare article overall, but it is part of MSM/Democrat party to cut off funding to conservative and libertarian causes. Also part of the demonization effort of libertarian fundraisers.

No article on Minnesota being bought and paid for my Mark Dayton and his ex-wives.

  7. Mitch and others…I recall clearly how in 2000 many Democrats praised John McCain (the “Maverick Republican”), and how they could vote for him if he ran for President. Soooo how’d that work out in 2008? For that matter, look at Mass. Scott Brown is pretty moderate to liberal, yet they attacked him and the fake Indian won.

  8. “No article on Minnesota being bought and paid for my Mark Dayton and his ex-wives.”

And don’t forget the slime balls in the unions!
