It’s “Super Bowl” Sunday.
Just a reminder, as you watch a couple of teams of overpaid thugs gambol and prance about a stadium owned by a couple of modern-day robber barons who’ve built their stadiums at the expense of the cities and states where they do their dirty business, playing a mobbed-up game; this is the ad that the NFL thought didn’t serve their image properly:
Sorry, NFL. I’ve watched my last Super Bowl…
…that the Bears aren’t in.
Never turned it on. Downton Abby night, see?
I didn’t watch either.
Playing guitar.
Nor I. Never developed a taste for athletic-type sports and am absolutely certain I never will, even as an involuntary contributor to Dayton’s folly and the grand memorial to King Carl I.
I understand that the event was broadcast by Fox. Such censorship seems even more distasteful coming from them. I guess business is business, another concept I’ve never developed a comprehension of.
You’ve got to admit that if people took their 2nd Amendment rights seriously, it could be really, really bad news for a good portion of the players in the NFL, no?
Didn’t watch, built a kennel for my kids’ spaniels. Like Lileks, I’ve lost a dog recently, too.
