The Real Roots Of Gun Control

One of “Protect” MN’s most insidious lies is that the Second Amendment and Gun Rights are affectations of white suburban males.

(I’m a honky, all right, but I do live in the city.  Your stereotype is null and void. But we knew that).

But the roots of gun control are, and have always been, utterly and corrosively racist.

This video – “No Guns for Negroes” – documents the racist roots of gun control.  It’s about twenty minutes, and it’s well worth the watch.

More than that?  It shows the effect that armed blacks had in deterring Klan violence.  The “Deacons of Defense” were an organized group of blacks, mostly veterans, who existed to deter Klan attacks against civil rights activities and black communities in the sixites.  The media – in the bag as most of them are for gun control – have pretty much buried that story.

  2. They ignore and try to brush under the rug, this bit of history as frantically as they do the views and opinions of Margaret Sanger.

  3. Those who claim that the Second Amendment is racist should do some short research into the city of New York’s early-20th century Sullivan Act, AKA Sullivan Law. A law that would make the reptile Bloomberg swoon, the Sullivan Act required licenses for those with concealable firearms. It also granted broad discretionary power to the police chief when issuing the permits.

“Undesirables” were the focus of the law. That’s shorthand for: “Italians, Chinese, Blacks, poor, politically unconnected, White trash, Jews, and those unliked by the power structure. The most common brand of undesirable was the Italian. Of course those of color fared worse. Perhaps “racist” is an over simplication.

It was passed in response to the well-publicised shooting of some popular figure. Those in support of the law were the same as today; politicians, the wealthy, and, of course, the media. “The common good” stood in place of “just one life” but made for great emotional appeal. Of course, today’s left, if they’re even aware of the law, dispute allegations of it’s discriminatory nature.

An interesting example of nothing new being under the sun … or East Coast …
