Big Man!
By Mitch Berg
Chris Christie: h more popular than Springsteen. In Jersey:
A Conservative Intel poll of 778 likely voters shows 56 percent of New Jerseyans have a favorable impression of their Republican governor, while just 34 percent have an unfavorable view of him. Ten percent said they were not sure how they feel.
Christie bests Bruce Springsteen, a New Jersey icon, by eight points. “The Boss” registers a 48 percent favorability rating in the poll. In contrast to Christie, however, only 22 percent say they have a distinctly unfavorable impression of the “Born to Run” singer. A whopping 29 percent said they were unsure of how they feel about Springsteen.
Apropos not much.

Like you, Mitch, I live Bruce’s music. But I listen to his concerts on Sirius Radio. 1972 or so to present.
Really, Bruce is kind of an idiot. Listen to his preaching over the years. How can anyone be so wrong for 40 straight years. He sound kind of crazy, yet kind of quaint as he talks about how the USSR isn’t really so bad, but the USA is.

Chuck,
True. I tend to tune out the preaching, because while I love a lot of the music (as I believe I have established 🙂 I don’t think he’s a person with exceptionally broad experience in the world. Since age 16, he’s either been trying to become a rock star, living as a struggling musician trying to become a rock star, a breakout star, a legally embattled rock star, one of the biggest stars in the world, a married guy, a troubled rock star, a divorced and remarried guy, and an institutional rock star. Good for him and all, but it’s not exactly the broadest set of perspectives from which to view the world – not much different than a child TV star, in a lot of ways.

Well put, Mr. Berg.
If you changed a couple key words, I think you also summed-up the resumes of a number of long-term office holders.

Joe,
Yep. Very true.
It’s the same reason I tend to read less of a lot of the really big younger political bloggers, left and right. Politics and punditry is all they’ve done. What do they have to tell me of life? Nothing!
