Why Do Reps. Ellison, McCollum, Walz And Nolan Hate Veterans?
By Mitch Berg
Four of Minnesota’s five House reps voted against funding veterans benefits during the shutdown (Collin Peterson did the right thing).
Now, their explanation will be that the Democrats’ congressional leadership – Reid and Pelosi – want the whole budget passed, not a bunch of piecemeal mini-budgets – because that’s just not the way we do budgets, apparently.
Of course, the Democrats don’t do budgets at all But I digress.
It’s buncombe, of course; the GOP’s strategy, making the Democrats justify their spending piece by piece rather than having it all jammed down in full tantrum mode – might just show the people that there’s an alternative in DC.
That’d make the Democrats in DC very upset.
So the real question is why do DC Democrats hate taxpayers?

Obama’s behavior should make even his supporters realize that he’s not the sharpest knife in the drawer. “Told by a CNBC interview that Wall Street is “pretty calm” about the government shutdown and political infighting, Obama said: “I think this time is different — I think they should be concerned.”
So the Prez is trying to panic Wall Street. Because it suits his political agenda.
“when you have a situation in which a faction is willing potentially to default on U.S. government obligations, then we are in trouble.”
Both factions are willing to default on U.S. obligations. If Obama is not, then the GOP has won.
F’n nitwit.

If I understand the news correctly, Sens. Klobuchar and Franken both voted against measures that would have eliminated the medical device tax. I believe one of which was a stand-alone bill.
For reasons we voters would not understand and should take on faith, no doubt. Can anyone imagine how fast Sen. Franken’s head must be spinning right now? All he wanted was some name recognition and fodder for a new book. Who’d have thought being a senator from flyover land was going to be this hard?

I’m trying to remember how Minnesota Democrats do budgets. Don’t they generally pass spending bills to fund particular departments piece-meal all session long, then one big tax increase bill to pay for it all? Isn’t that how the last Minnesota shut-down happened?
No wonder national Democrats are mad Republicans are trying to pass stand-alone spending bills: it’s patent, trademark and copyright infringement.

Can’t speak for the others, but I’m certain that McCollum hates veterans because Nancy Pelosi told her to.

James Taranto picked up on Obama saying this:
“when you have a situation in which a faction is willing potentially to default on U.S. government obligations, then we are in trouble.”
Of course, the House has said nothing about default — that’s the treasury department, controlled by Obama, and it’s the Democrat controlled senate and Obama who refuse to sign off on a spending bill that would end the shutdown.
But by using the word ‘default’ when he controls the treasury dept., Obama is coming perilously close to an impeachable offense, that is, he’s talking default when he alone has the power to put us into default.

True. Unfortunately, Betty is outside now trying to put up barricades around an animal hospital.

It is just maddening to watch the useful idiots on the left, giving Obumbler a pass on his previous declaration that raising the debt ceiling was unpatriotic. Except, of course, when he and the Democrats do it.

As the number of income transfers from the working young to the idle old increase and the young begin to complain, will a coherent political movement result, and which party will represent which side?

Answer, Democrats will support the idle young and old. They will do this by punishing the productive young and old.
