More red lines that we have not the faintest will to stand behind. Again.
Note to Foggy Bottom: extremists don’t give mulligans.

Dear Secretary Kerry:
Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad forwarded your letter to me for response. While we appreciate the one-week extension of the time to hand over what remains of our chemical weapons (not much, after those Jabhat al-Nusra idiots accidentally spilled most of it in the tunnel in Ghouta), please allow me to point out a few facts you may have overlooked.
I know The Truth. Anyone who disagrees with me, denies The Truth. Denying The Truth leads society into Error. Error harms society. Preventing you from harming society is Good. Killing you, to prevent you from denying The Truth and thereby harming society by leading it into Error, is Good. Therefore . . .
DIE, INFIDEL DOG!
Sincerely Yours,
Ayman al-Zawahiri
Regional Commander

Thanks @Joe Doakes, for expressing what seems pretty obvious to me – if you bother to ask “cui bono”? with respect to this this alleged use chemical weapons, Bashar comes in a distant second to Opfor.

Remember the folks who threatened to leave the country if Kerry/Edwards were to lose to Bush/Cheney?
Good times.
