I’m quite certain that we’d never find even ONE McCain, or god forbid, Bush supporter who was mostly ignorant on policy, history, or details.

    Outside I suppose
    1. George W Bush
    2. Sarah Palin

  2. Yossarian Says:

Peev, couldn’t you have the decency to at LEAST direct your comment to “The Onion?”

  3. Mr. Shirt Says:

Under what pretense are we supposed to think that you, Penigma, are a quality judge on who is “mostly ignorant on policy, history, or details.”

  4. Mr. Shirt Says:

He’s just pissed off that someone got a photo of his friend Angry Clown sitting around his “house”.

  5. flash Says:

“”Peev, couldn’t you have the decency to at LEAST direct your comment to “The Onion?” “”

He did, Shot in the Onion. Didn’t you get the memo!

  6. Troy Says:

I think flash-memos are only available over at Centralocity.

  7. Yossarian Says:

Flash, your comment would have been funnier if it had been funny.

  8. Chad The Elder Says:

C’mon Yossarian, you don’t think that “Shot in the Onion” is still as funny the seventy-eighth time as the first? HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA! Read your Scafienet memos more carefully next time. They’re enclosed in the same envelope as our weekly checks.

I claim to be the first person to dub the President-elect “Barak Ventura.”

Pre-election, I feared electing the most liberal man in the Senate and a Socialist Black Power adherant would bring an administration full of wild-eyed Rev. Wright and Louis Farrakhan types. Anything could have happened. But Obama is filling the cabinet with Clinton retreads and Chicago Machine Democrats. What a relief. We know those idiots; we know how to deal with them.

Jesse Ventura was elected in a fit of voter giddiness but once elected had no team and no plan so he filled up his administration with hastily-reregistered “Independents” who turned out to be former Democrats who ran his administration as if The Body had been a Democrat all along.

Barak Obama was elected and now is acting exactly the same way as Ventura. He will fill his cabinet and his administration will run as if The One had been a standard-issue Democrat all along.

Frankly, this might be better than having McCain elected. I’m starting to feel MUCH better about things.

Plus, I get to coin the phrase “Barak Ventura” to describe it. Feel free to use the phrase on other blogs – just be sure to hat tip SITD for it.

  10. nate Says:

I posted my new phrase “Barak Ventura” but my post was eaten. Re-post.

Jesse Ventura was elected because his candidacy was something new and shiny but when he got in office he had no team, no depth of “Independents” so he had to fill his cabinet with Democrats hastily re-registered as Independents. He ended up governing as a standard-issue DFLer.

Barak Obama was elected the same way and he’s staffing up the same way. His cabinet picks do not include Black Panthers, they’re all Chicago Machine Democrats and Clinton retreads. He’ll end up governing the same as if Hillary had been elected.

This is actually better than having McCain elected. We know those Clinton bozos and know how to deal with them. McCain would have been hard to keep on the reservation.

Just remember – I coined the phrase first. Hat Tip SITD whenever you use it.

Q: “How many Peevs does it take to change a lightbulb?”
A: “One, and that’s not funny”

  15. Chad The Elder Says:

Thanks Brad. …I mean thanks for nothing. Nothing to see here, right Flash? Let’s all just move along and get in line to receive our new government issued sweaters.

  16. swiftee Says:

And cheese, Chad. Don’t forget about the free cheese…mmmmm free guvmin’t cheeeeeeese.

We’re all goin’ to ride the rails on new choo-choo trains and eat free cheese. And then, Peevee and me will be friends.

    Gonna be good.

  17. Badda Says:

Mitch just called Peev a lesbian.

  18. Mr. D Says:

Mitch just called Peev a lesbian.

We could call him a cab, I suppose.

  19. Night Writer Says:

Whee! Choo-choos and cheese! But if the video image at the top of the page is any indication – don’t drink the kool-aid!

  20. Mr. Shirt Says:

A bit off topic but I had to share. I’m in Ottawa tonight, & got into a conversation with a girl who appeared normal, but out of nowhere started off on the Malthusian rant about how God & agriculture has ruined the world. She then announced her plan to sterilize all boys at birth, then they could earn their “right” to breed from the state. This of course is all in an attempt to gradually whittle down the entire human race until we are no longer in existence & the planet could finally heal. She ststed that that was the one thing that brought happiness to her life… once we were gone the planet would heal.

The last thing she said to me was “If you’re going to talk to me, you have to stop laughing.” Unfortunately I couldn’t stop.

The icing on the cake was that the most important thing she said she did this year was go to an Obama rally.

  21. Terry Says:

Interesting, Mr. Shirt. I’ve long suspected that the earth-firster types are just another manifestation of the dualist heresy. No matter what our progressive brethren believe, there is nothing new under the sun.

  22. Mr. Shirt Says:

She said “I think your laughing because youhave a simple mind” I said “No, I know the roots of your views & I’m laughing because I think you are ridiculous.”

It was a fun but disturbing conversation.

  23. Mr. Shirt Says:

& since Thomas Malthus was the first Malthus-ian, her new ideas date back to 1798.

  24. Terry Says:

1798. I reckon there were around five hundred million people in the world back then, most of them starving because there simply wasn’t enough food in the world to feed five hundred million people.
These days days there are more than six billion people in the world and although many are starving, the cause is political, not the ability to produce and transport food where it is needed.

  25. Mr. Shirt Says:

Yeah, want me to get her phone number for you? She’s done talking to me!

  26. Terry Says:

No thank you. I met enough chicks like that back in my days as a lit major.
I once read a book called “A World Lit Only by Fire”, about life before the use of electricity. It was written by Marxist, but he took his his history seriously. One of the many things we forget or ignore about history is how difficult it was to simply feed yourself and your family in those days (you can get a hint of this in Dickens’ early novels). The best light was given by the sun. After that, oil or tallow candles. Since oil and tallow might be eaten, keeping a living space light after dark was very expensive.
I think too often people think of poverty as meaning you can’t afford luxuries. Real poverty doesn’t mean only that you can’t afford an annual vacation or a big screen TV. It means that you do back-breaking labor just to survive. And you are still hungry and cold all the time.
Socialism breeds that kind of poverty.

  27. penigma Says:

It seems the exagerations of Reagan’s minions have been a bit premature:

“You know, Reagan WON the Cold War, so the massive deficits, they were OK.”

    http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/11/24/world/main4631526.shtml

When is a Cold War not really over? When you fail to actually ensure the nation which succumbs doesn’t eventually swallow you due to your excessive consumption and inept foreign policy that allowed them to sink into dispair and restore the totalitarianism you spent so much to bring down.

  28. penigma Says:

Badda, gosh, you?!? Gay bashing, seems right up your alley, I guess. You and Swift oughta get a room though, seems like you were meant for each other.

How many Bergs does it take to write drivel.

One, but it NEVER, EVER stops. ever. never. ever.

  30. Yossarian Says:

How many Bergs does it take to write drivel.

One, but it NEVER, EVER stops. ever. never. ever.

And yet, you continue to appear here, Peev, writing reams and reams of additional drivel that NEVER, EVER stops. Are you completely incapable of seeing how psychotic you are?

  31. Badda Says:

Speaking of premature… where’s the gay bashing, Peev?

  32. swiftee Says:

I think that Peeve’s brainpan has a hole in it somewhere other than the normal 5.

How else can you explain why he finds himself completely incapable of stemming the flow of completely disconnected babble that appropos of nothing, regularly splurts out of his pie hole?

I think it’s a undocumented symptom of Democratia not unlike turette’s syndrome. Since it has not been formerly documented, as it’s discoverer, I shall henceforth call it Peevic pap.

  33. Mr. Shirt Says:

    Badda,

Isn’t it obvious? you are a conservative individualist. Therefore you are gay bating & hate mongering any time you communicate!

Collectivists don’t like to think, it’s easier if they have you categorized by the Ministry of Collective Rationalizing down at Central Command. Mr. Big down at Central Command has decided that if you are not a fellow collectivist you are a gay baiter & a hate filled racist.

Get used to it, as Peev could tell you, Central Command does not make mistakes… They passed a law stating Central Command is always right by fiat.

  34. swiftee Says:

What do you use to bait gays, exactly? I’ve tried quiche, but it won’t stay on the hook.

  35. swiftee Says:

Do hate mongers still wrap it up in newspaper? I used to love that.

  36. Badda Says:

Ask Peev… he’s got the most shrill hate ’round these parts.

  37. Mr. Shirt Says:

    Swiftee,

Have you tried Broadway tickets to a Judy Garland musical review? I bet front row concert tickets for a Madonna show work too.

  38. Angie Smith Says:

Obama is completing his cabinet with those liberal, left-wing illuminatis from Clinton’s administration, but maybe that’s not so bad after all! We know how they think and we’ll be better able to deal with them.
