For instance, when the lefties start tittering about some self-serving study that claims to show liberals are smarter – another round of which we’re no doubt due for.
It’s good for a giggle – or, if you’re not so bright, as a keystone of your worldview.
So it’s with that subtext in mind that I submit this without additional comment.

We have Charlton Heston, Ted Nugent, Bart Starr, Ronald Reagan, Jerry Ford (see Michigan athletic accomplishments), lumberjack Congressman Duffy (Wisc).
They have Woody Allen, Garison Keillor, Al Franken, Sean Penn, Mpls and St Paul city councils.
We have manly men, they have girly men. Even domestic terrorist Billy Ayres is a winey little worm. He wouldn’t last 1 week in prison.

Keep in mind, though, that the Wellstones were a wrestling family, and Franken was a wrestler, too. And where does Ahnuld Schurzenjaeger fit?
Not that I’m against the idea–I’ve seen it up close and personal in Boulder–but I’m thinking that the correlation isn’t quite clean.

Bubbasan, correlation is not causation so being conservative doesn’t make you manly.
I tend to favor Reynold’s theory: being physically strong takes discipline and planning, and encourages self reliance. Not having discipline leaves you weaker, poorer, and more willing to redistribute the works of others who have better attributes to you.
401(k)s are made for conservatives. Social Security is made for liberals. One has results that you have complete input on (if not complete control) and the other is at the whims of politicians, enforced by law, and tottering on collapse.
