Man Of The Hour
By Mitch Berg
Charles Ramsey, the rescuer of the three kidnapped women in Cleveland, in what may be one of the greatest television interviews of all time:
Runner-up lines of the day:
“Bro, I knew something was wrong when a little pretty white girl ran into a black man’s arms. Something is wrong here. Dead giveaway…She homeless or she got problems. Only reason she runnin’ to a black man.”
Winner line of the day?
When [Anderson] Cooper mentioned the FBI reward related to information for Amanda Berry whereabouts, he said, “I tell you what you do, give it to them… you know I got a job anyway,” and pulled out his paycheck that he just picked up.
Thank God – in more ways than one – for Charles Ramsey.

The look on his face when the copper siren goes off: Priceless!

I will say one thing for him; he’s getting every nanosecond out of his 15 minutes of fame! He humbles me with his courage and his generosity.

Agreed Boss, ordinary guy finding himself in a situation where his action and reaction stops the evil perpetrated by a bunch of monsters.

I thought it was being watched because the guy’s a character, meaning he has personality and thus a certain charisma. If there’s a racial connection, it would that his personality feels big because he speaks out and there’s a ton of comedy about the constrained way average white guys talk which plays on that idea. Eddie Murphy did some great bits as a white guy.
I noticed his line about eating his McDonalds because the specificity made it funny. The rest sounds like a decent guy doing the right thing.
