From Where Might A Landslide Come?
By Mitch Berg
ACORN is allegedly actively abetting voter fraud:
Two Ohio voters, including Domino’s pizza worker Christopher Barkley , claimed yesterday that they were hounded by the community-activist group ACORN to register to vote several times, even though they made it clear they’d already signed up.
Barkley estimated he’d registered to vote “10 to 15” times after canvassers for ACORN, whose political wing has endorsed Barack Obama, relentlessly pursued him and others.
Fearless prediction: watch the media focus relentlessly on everything but ACORN. I’m guessing electronic voting machines will make a comeback in the next few news cycles…but I digress. Watch pre-emptive Tic claims of election fraud to get breathless coverage.
No, really.
The wages of the past eight years – of the Dems trying on the one hand to sabotage confidence in the electoral system on behalf of Algore, and on the other to fraudulently gin up votes for their people up and down the ticket – are a much weaker democracy.

RickDFL is probably out at the locally cemetery registering new Obama voters so I will try to duplicate his response in his place.
First of all, no one has been charged, much less convicted, of voter fraud. Everything is fine!
Second, even if they were convicted of forging registrations, no one has ever used those registrations to actually vote. The system works!
Third, Even if someone was convicted of voting using one of those false registrations, it was only a vote or two and did not change the election’s outcome.
Fourth, even if the fraudulent might have turned the election, conservatives have no right to complain because back in 2000, Katherine Harris and her army of klansmen beat minority voters to death in Florida in front of polling places to suppress the dem vote.
Fifth, count every vote, you fascists! My slack job depends on it!

Bringing Chicago Politics To The Nation

Right it was only in the Star Tribune on what, page B1, with a headline reference on page A1?
Sure did ignore it.
And Voter Fraud is at what rate Mitch, nationally? Sorry, couldn’t hear you, oh, you mean less than .1 of a percent? Yeah, that’s gonna stoke a landslide.
Also, “Mr. Rightwing nutterdom purveyor”, remember, this is Bush’s DOJ doing this, read the actual story and you’ll see that ACORN asserts it has repeatedly contacted the authorities about issues, only to be ignored. But hey, I’m SURE they’re MUCH more guilty than a guy like oh, Tom Delay, who was simply the victim of a partisan justice system. (19 fingers.. 19 fingers.. 19 fingers…. mumble mumble)
One other think none of you know crap all about Chicago’s politics (clearly). The key thing that organized Chicago was the fact that the local precinct captains knew EVERYONE in their neighborhoods, and if you asked the captain to get something done, it got done. Assertions of voter fraud in Chicago are and were bogus bullshit from 1960. But beleive whatever you like, you’re just howling at the moon again. Oh, and Terry, allegations of voter disenfranchisement to the tune of 14,000 voters isn’t just some line of insensitive bullcrap coming from people like you about suffering you didn’t endure, it’s an undisputed fact that 14,000 voters were improperly taken off voter roles DESPITE the fact that the company doing so warned Katherine Harris and she told them to do it anyway. So, for every Chicago vote you can phumper about, I think there are probably 3 or 4 Florida voters who were denied their rights, and the right-wing is trying to do it again this year- fortunately, they are losing case after case, as what they want to do IS ILLEGAL.

I guess we’ll have to trust penigma’s vast knowledge of Northeast Chicago on this one. 😉

Yeah, Penigma, all of the articles I read in the Chicago Tribune growing up about the graveyard vote were clearly all made up. And it’s a complete accident that a candidate from Chicago has funded ACORN for 800 big as they’ve been found to have submitted tens of thousands of fraudulent voter applications–and I’d bet it gets into the hundreds of thousands before it’s all done.
The question is not whether voter fraud is being aided and abetted by Daley (I mean Obama) and his friends. It’s whether we’ll wake up in time to prevent it from destroying our republic.
