The First, Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Seventh choices must have said “No, Thanks.”

The producers of “Hell’s Kitchen” and “Trading Spaces” must have been getting nervous, and desperate as they worked their way down their list of potential talent for their upcoming new show on TruTV.

Then Jesse “The Hind” Ventura opted in.

The former governor will host a new program for TruTV (formerly Court TV) in which he’ll travel the country, exploring modern-day conspiracies and getting input from believers and skeptics.

“I’ve been a mayor; I’ve been a governor. Now I get to be a detective and seek the truth,” Ventura said in a press statement.

“Until you hunted man, you haven’t hunted yet.”

“Huh?” Replied the show’s producers.

No word yet as to which Jesse Ventura will show up for filming; the bald but clean-cut former Guv or Kinky Friedman-sidekick with braided chin hair.

Another show not to watch.

  1. Didn’t Ventura cameo as an MIB in an episode of the X Files? He can no longer tell his real life from his show biz life. Common problem with professional wrestlers.

  2. Even though he has been a mayor & governor, I think he got the job because he’s a loud mouthed conspiracy kook himself. I wonder how many conspiracies he’ll be skeptical about?

Has anyone explained to him that everything falls at the “same rate as gravity”, whether it’s a sack of feathers or WTC #7?

  3. He certainly did, Terry… with Alex Trebek (as a man who looks and sounds just like Alex Trebek).

He was fine, but the episode (“Jose Chung’s ‘From Outer Space'”) was brilliant!

He’s now, as Terry suggests, a parody of the characters he used to play (which were parodies and cliches to begin with).

  4. OK, but Jesse does have the gift. He’s a natural leader with natural charisma. And people are gonna watch him, and give him publicity, like him or not.

  5. If you are right, Paul, then I wonder how many people his natural charisma will hook into his show.

Out of curiosity, how well did his recent book sell? Do people outside our state actually remember him at all?

We’re going to need to go to Peev for his sound analysis and keen understanding of trends. Peev? Take it away.

(Unless you’re busy studying for the bar.)
