Biden is no Patriot and a Pisspoor Catholic to Boot

Joe Biden, not realizing his mistake, is running with his “Paying Taxes is Patriotic” theme.

On Thursday he upped the ante, thundering that he also has Jesus in his corner. “Catholic social doctrine as I was taught it is, you take care of people who need the help the most,” Mr. Biden preached to a group of union supporters on Thursday.

So the “you” in Catholic doctrine is the Federal Government? I wasn’t there when that doctrine was penned, but I’m pretty sure they meant “you” as in “you and the church” in which case tithing and “your brother’s keeper” are the operatives they had in mind.

By the way, how’s Obama’s brother doing these days? (I digress)

Applying the actual intentions of the Catholic doctrine, Joe Biden, not surprisingly for a Democrit, practices what the church preaches to the extent of ten percent of the national average – not among the rich – not among those that earn what he earns – the average of all Americans.

Mr. Biden and his wife recently released their tax returns, and they reported an average of $380, or 0.2% of their income, in annual charitable contributions over a 10-year period. The national average was about 2% of income.

Jesus is pissed.  Joe best watch his back.

  1. Joe doesn’t need to watch his back for Jesus… it is His dad who has the wrathful temper. At least He did before He started having kids.

Every day that goes by, the more I appreciate Joe Biden. Strategically, of course.

  2. Whose virtue is enhanced by voting to increase taxes on others so that the voter (or a 3rd party) benefits?

  3. I don’t mind Biden’s cheapness with regards to charity as much as I mind the fact that after 35 years of excellent income in the Senate, he’s still sitting on half a million bucks worth of debt or more, and has only about $100k in investments besides his home, if I read his financial statements correctly. Not the kind of guy I want anywhere near a three trillion dollar budget, to put it mildly.

  4. Oh, and yeah; the Bible (Romans 13, Proverbs, elsewhere) says a few things about savings, debt, and so on. So his lack of savings and presence of a lot of debt says a lot about his character, not much of it very nice.

As a financial advisor I can divine his intentions quite easily. Like any liberal democrat, he is expecting someone else to take responsibility for his actions, in this case inactions to save and invest for his future.

He is no doubt banking (hah! that cliche doesn’t hold the meaning it used to does it?!) on his government pension and possibly also Social Security – I don’t know if Senators get both or not.
