My Mom made her monthly phone call to me Sunday morning and she wanted to talk politics. She’s a sixty-something mother of five, once divorced, once widowed. She lives in the Chisago City area these days.
Mom is ambivalent about W and hates the Iraq War. She went on one of Dayton’s free bus rides to Canada a few years ago. She’s loyal to rep Oberstar because he helped the family out with an immigration matter.
Mom is incredibly excited that Palin is on the ticket and can’t wait to go out and vote for her.
Win or lose, McCain made the right choice.

My mother-in-law is a loyal Democrat from Ohio and Minnesota who last voted for a Republican when Nixon ran for office (because she couldn’t, or wouldn’t, vote for McGovern), who supported Mondale even after she was disgraced by the Wellstone! Memorial Service (TM), who defended the Clintons, who supported Kerry, who supports any number of left-leaning causes…
…considers Oback Barama too socialist (too Socialist!!!) for her tastes.
She decided to vote McCain/Palin after hearing Sarah Palin (our Sarahcuda) speak last week.
She also detests the protestors.
Folks, once again, this is a time for choosing. It is once again Morning in America.
