Watching Melissa Harris-Perry (!)’s meltdown on MSNBC…:

…I kept wanting to ask “you do realize, don’t you, that the “safety net” we have is why there are so many poor people in “your neighborhood”, don’t you? Because we’ve subsidized poverty to the point where it’s a viable lifestyle, and it takes a lot more work and effort and, yes, sacrifice to get out of poverty than to stay there, in many cases?”
She is obviously a product of affirmative action and government hand outs. It was reported that she lost her house to Hurricane Isaac, so maybe that’s part of her insane rant.
I wondered to myself, long ago…how does poverty perpetuate itself? Subsidizing it notwithstanding….and this will come across as cold to most, if not all liberals…poverty perpetuates itself due to people who cannot even provide for themselves procreate, and have children for whom they cannot provide.
And they do this why? Because they are….everybody sing along…entitled.
So another, more recent question popped into my head:
Is EVERYONE at MSNBC completely unhinged?
First, let me say, I love media melt downs. This election season, with our dominant media culture trying to defend, prop-up and just plain cover up the dismal results of President Obama and his Administration and the ideology that government uber alles is the answer will lead to more of these Howard Beale moments and get to, as Dennis Prager might say, moments of clarity on where the people who claim to be objective are really coming from.
Secondly, most of these media folks are firmly ensconced in the 1%, and watching them try to “common man” up the coverage exposes those of us who spend each and every moment as and with “common men” to the odd nature of people who think their feces doesn’t stink like everyone elses. Learning that Chris Matthews lives in a “whiter” community in a very well racially integrated region than I do in an ex-urban area of Nordic white Minnesota explains his constant projection of “racism” on his ideological opponents, real and imagined.
MItch, can you fix the “auto-play” feature on the video in this post? It starts playing as soon as you come on to this site, regardless of whether your reading this particular post, and re-launches whenever you back-page from the comments or refresh.

What’s with audio/video firing off automatically? I’m trying to listen to Davis & Emmer podcast, thank you.
I really don’t like audios or videos that automatically start playing on page load.
I’ll be sitting there, listening to Pandora, and I’ll open up my usual bunch of blogs in different tabs, and two or three will automatically start running videos, stepping over each other, and over the music I was trying to listen to.
Just because I’ve opened a page doesn’t mean I’m looking at it. I’m perfectly capable of clicking “run” when I’m ready to watch the video.
When you embed videos, turn off auto-play.
