Seen above a Romney/Ryan rally on Saturday:
It’s almost like Protest Warrior has come back to life.

In the portrayal of this incident a year or two from now on HBO’s “The Newsroom”, that banner will be corrected.

“Romney claims Obama wasn’t born in America.”
“No, he never has.”
“Yes he has. Romney is a birther and a racist.”
“Give me one solid quote indicating that Romney believes Obama wasn’t born in America. Or one racist thig he has ever said.”
“Romney wears magic underwear.”

It’s getting weird. I believe Obama was born in Hawaii. I also believe there places other than his publishing biography where he claimed otherwise, either to obtain some form of benefit or to appear “exotic.” They really fear having to try and explain it away.

It IS weird. I can’t decide who ran this ad — Democrats to discredit the Republican birthers? Or Republicans to make it look like the Democrats are running this kind of bizarre campaign (misspelling a word makes it look like it is obviously the work of the “smarter” party that is trying to imitate the TEA party bad spellers? Or it’s the Democrats trying to make it look like the Republicans trying to make it look like stupid Democrats? Never underestimate the tactics of the voter manipulators of either party.
Meanwhile, Steve Smith gives his swan song:

“Sanity”
You’re involved i “Penigma” in some way or another, aren’t you?
Try to be honest, here.
Oh, and the threadjacking? If you want to launch topics, start your own blog. Spend a few years persuading people to care.
The constant threadjacking is getting old, and it’s just a little rude. Please stop.

You’re involved i “Penigma” in some way or another, aren’t you?
WTF is “i penigma”?
Ban me from your site if you don’t like the “threadjacking”. You had a dialogue going about Steve Smith earlier . . . and I couldn’t find that post. I thought he made a few good points in his speech.
August 27th, 2012 at 10:11 am
No, “Sanity”, I’d rather have people follow a few tactful suggestions than go banning people. So by your gracious leave, please don’t hijack threads.
The Steve Smith post was two posts down the page. Puh leeze.

You know what you have, Mitch? – The heartbreak of Sanity; the untreatable malaise of parasitic infestation on a host; the realization of having a freeloading guest at your table who complains about the menu.
Sharks have remoras, dogs have fleas, you have Sanity.

Mitch, I’d cut “Sanity” some slack here…
If you google the words on the banner as they are, on the first results page you get mainly center-right sources (Daily Caller, Hot Air, The Blaze, etc). Only one center-left source, a tweet from a CBS news reporter. Now if you read those sources, they say that the LA TImes reported Move-On.org (an organization originally formed to get 2012 Democrat Convention Keynote speaker Bill Clintons’ penis out of the news) paid for the banner ad.
If your sources for news were nothing but Raw Story, Demo U/G and other publications that appeal to the membership of the Keepers Of Odd Knowledge Society, like “Sanity”, you probably didn’t hear about this story. Even if you did, they memory holed the ‘then’ and replaced it with ‘than’ (at least they did at “Democrats for Progress”).
PS: Q – “WTF is “i(sic) Penigma?” A – A cry for an intervention.

How appropriate for this thread : Remember – They’re The Smart Ones
Sanity – “You had a dialogue going about Steve Smith earlier . . . and I couldn’t find that post.”
Mitch – “The Steve Smith post was two posts down the page.”

It’s perfectly obvious they meant America was better because when we elected Obama the mainstream media never mentioned the birth certificate issue and with the elevation of The Light Worker, the seas had begun to recede. Then birtherism reared its ugly head and he’s distracted from his important work having to explain which birth claim is the real lie – Hawaii or book-jacket-Kenya – so America is no longer getting better.
America was better .. . then birtherism. The trouble is banners lack elipses.

Reminds me of the William F. Buckley claim:
Bush Senior’s lips did not lie: your gnu will not be taxed.

WTF is “i penigma”?
I’ll guess either:
a) a typographical error in which our rightly irritated host meant to type “in penigma”
b) especially bad Asimov fan fiction
c) a dish that never made it out of the Olive Garden’s test kitchen
d) a rejected early version of the Stan Getz and Astrud Gilberto classic, to wit
“Small and lame and dumb and homely/the girl from i penigma goes walking/and where she goes 2000-word screeds flow”

Honorable Mention to TBS for “The heartbreak of Sanity”. As Homer Simpson once said “It works on so many levels”.

With regard to Barry’s birthplace I’m with donlokk’s comment above.
“Small and lame and dumb and homely/the girl from i penigma goes walking/and where she goes 2000-word screeds flow”
Thanks for that Mr. D!!!!!!

Mr D wins the thread.

Dang it, Mr. D. That was my favorite elevator music from The Blues Brothers. You just ruined it.
