Nope! Not even close. I was working at a lower paying job and still haven’t recovered financially. I’m supposed to be at retirement age in a couple of years, but, that ain’t happenin! I just accepted a new position with an IT Security firm, so I’m hoping to at least get back to even within three to four years years, but if the Kenyan gets re crowned, all bets are off. Fortunately, the few investments that I have in metals, are doing well.

Am I better off than I was 4 years ago? Let’s inventory
Job: Same job for 6 years
Salary: a bit
Cost of Living: rising gasoline cost more than negates the piddly salary increases I’ve had, let alone food and elec/natgas (remember, prices will “necessarily skyrocket”)
Investments: last I checked, our main annuity had lost 15-20% from the previous quarter (no I can’t remove funds, that is taxed as income and I get a 10% penalty on top)
Mortgage: BWAHAHAHAAAH!!!! Yeah, thanks a lot Dodd/Fwank.
