Berg Institute Announces Politician Buy-Back Program!
By Mitch Berg
The Berg Institute – the nation’s foremost think tank on public safety and social policy [1] – is announcing a brand new program; the Politician Buy-Back!
Today only, please bring any politicians you’d like to get off the street down to the Shot In The Dark comment center. Toss ’em in the box – in the comment section – no questions asked. In exchange, you get a Mastercarp card good for $100 [2].
So bring your politicians down and make our streets that much safer!
Thanks to Berg Institute Senior Fellow Kermit for the idea.
[1] So sez we. Hey, if the Brady Campaign, the Violence Policy Center and Paul Krugman can do it…
[2] The $100 will be deducted from your share of the national debt. Card not good at retail stores.

Amy Klobuchar
Al Franken
Betty McCollum
Mark Dayton
Barb Goodwin
Those would be some of my official representatives. I’d have included Kate Knuth too but she already turned herself in, probably for a carbon credit and/or yet another burnt orange smock.

Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Bwarney Fwank, Turbo Tax Timmy, Uncle Ben Bernanke… the list could go on and on.
Can we still turn in for former politicians that aren’t in working order right now? We’ve got a few here in Wisconsin I’d like off the street (and out of the academy).

Representative-for-Life (and future Associate Justice of the Supreme Court) Ellison was the first person to come to my mind. Bernie Sanders, Dennis Kucinich, and Henry (Bat-Boy) Waxman. Oh, and let’s dig up Wellstone, Howard Metzenbaum and Franklin (spit) Delano (spit) Roosevelt (spit, spit, spit) while we’re at it.

My Legislator For Life, the very liberal Lyndon Carlson of Crystal/Robbinsdale. I would like to turn him in for something about a half-century younger.

TBS: After this year’s redistricting, Lyndon might not be your legislator anymore. He got flipped over to the West side of SD45 which rendered his little “Carlson Curve” irrelevant. He actually has to go out and campaign for once. Reid Johnson’s opponent this year has some name recognition…in Golden Valley where he was a city council member. not in Crystal or Robbinsdale.
On a local level, I’ll throw in Ryan Winkler. The MN Legislature’s very own Eddie Haskell. Nationally, I’ll ditch the gun-grabbing Chuck “conservative talk radio should be regulated like porn” Schumer.

Keith Ellison. But be careful. He may declare jihad on your infidel ass.
