NEO-Keynesianism covers up the fact (temporarily) that straight socialized medicine is a hopelessly stupid idea. There is no evidence anywhere that the government can run anything that requires actuarial science. Single-payer may be the only Constitutional option left for the Left if the Supreme Court strikes down Obamacare on the expected grounds.

I think they ought to name the new government enterprise the Department of Medical Valuation (DMV). That way the people will have a reasonable expectation of the service they’ll get.

They always ignore the transactional “friction” that is created with a government buyer. The overhead in purchasing and administration is always huge.
