Other than asking for money, Bachmann’s homepage is useful for what? In the past year, she quit her marriage-long association with WELS (women cannot vote there, you know), skipped half the votes in Congress, said she was from Iowa, and now is running for office in a District where she does not live. All to serve you better. She was elected to represent YOU, not HERSELF. OK, take your shots and tell me how pure she is. Skip the foster mom part; I’m as good as a Dad, minus about 20+ that I wasn’t compensated for, as she is a Mom.

    OJ,

Not that I think you want to be convinced, but I’ll give it a shot:

    Other than asking for money

Given the way politics works, that’s a bad thing exactly how?

In the past year, she quit her marriage-long association with WELS (women cannot vote there, you know),

So? I mean, if someone is a fiscal conservative, I don’t care if they’re Muslim or atheist.

skipped half the votes in Congress,

Which is an issue. She was running for President, and she did skip fewer votes than the sitting President did when he was running, but at least it’s not an unfair point.

    said she was from Iowa,

That is, however, an unfair point. So what? It’s an objective fact she was born there, and lived there for a chunk of her childhood.

I’m from North Dakota. I’ve lived over half my life in Minnesota. I can claim strong links to both places and be right about both. We don’t have internal passports in this country; we are allowed, often encouraged, to relocate.

    It’s utterly irrelevant.

and now is running for office in a District where she does not live.

    Yet.

I mean, c’mon – her district got moved; she didn’t leave it. And she’s said she’s going to move – and the law allows that. Could you relocated in a week and a half, while working a day job half a continent away?

And bear in mind that the new districts don’t take effect for purposes of who goes to Washington until January. So it’s irrelevant at this point.

    That’d be another unfair point.

OK, take your shots and tell me how pure she is.

Her purity is of no interest to me. The conservatism of the policies she writes and /or votes for are all I care about. And let me remind you I don’t live in the Sixth District, so it’s not an issue to me.

Skip the foster mom part; I’m as good as a Dad, minus about 20+ that I wasn’t compensated for, as she is a Mom.

I don’t doubt it, while at the same time noting that its utterly irrelevant.

Does she live in the Sixth that is was recognized in Washington at the beginning of this session? Will she live in the new one in time to meet the legal residency requirements, whatever they are? Are per policies conservative enough for me, a non-constituent? Above all, did she get elected to an office in which she is legally entitled to serve?

Sorry, OJ, but that’s as far as I care.
