Anti-Semitism Among Us

The “Anti-War Committee” is hosting a pro-“Palestinian” march this Saturday, to commemorate the exile of the “Palestinians” from Israel.

Unmentioned, of course, will be the fact that this problem could have been solved sixty years ago; the Israelis have always been perfectly willing to co-exist with Palestinians Arabs, provided they weren’t all about throwing Israel into the sea.  Arabs in Israel are currently the only Arabs in the middle east who live under a functional, secure democracy.’

But that means nothing to the local  “peace” movement, who will continue to parlay the racist myth that the Palestinian “Diaspora” is a sign of Zionist racism rather than Arab-government dogmatic opportunism.

They are, as Neal from Loyal Opposition puts it, perpetrating a fraud on the spectators.  He describes the situation:

The Anti War Committee believes that “Israel as an illegitimate apartheid state, and we stand in solidarity with the Palestinian struggle for justice and self-determination”. It requires no stretch of the imagination the AWC is calling for the destruction of Israel and murder of the Jews – the stated goal of Hamas, Hizb’Allah, Fatah, Al-Aqsa Martyr’s Brigade, and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad.

These are the useful idiots that will be marching in the streets of Minneapolis on Saturday: sympathizers to the slaughter of every Jew in Israel. By acting as mouthpieces and spreading their vile propaganda, the AWC, PSC, and the rest of their mob are complicit.

The progeny of Grand Mufti Haj Muhammed Amin al-Husseini will slither up Hennepin Avenue, with their Palestinian jihadist flags and kuffiyehs, bleating about how horrible it is for Israel to defend itself against the jihadist armies who would see the Jews expunged from the Earth itself. Again – and again – and again – they will spew their ahistoric slander upon our streets and pollute our eyes with their libels, until, at Loring Park, anti-Semitic excrement and obscurantists will retch their Jew hating venom.

Of course, there’s a short view, and a long view:

G-d will look down upon the blasphemers of civilization and decency and He will know what must be done.

G-d, in His infinite wisdom, shall eventually cause the rains to fall and the Park will be cleansed, and the Jew haters will be as dust in years hence.

The trees and flowers will bloom, the grass will grow, and the birds shall sing.

And the Jews will still be here.

Speaking of perpetrating frauds – the Minneapolis E-“Democracy” discussion forum, run by MinnPost writer David Brauer – allows the Anti-War Committee to post announcements for the demonstration, but refuses to allow Neal to expose the other side of the issue.  This is of a piece with E-“Democracy”‘s bigotry on issue after issue; suffice to say that if they get any tax money, it needs to be stopped.

  1. Mitch,

Palestinians, as Mesopotamiam origined Arabs, are Semites. Trying to frame this debate in ‘anti-semetism’ language, is no different than Al Sharpton crying racism over nothing. Clearly there are Arabs who are rabidly anti-semitic, but the brutality of the Israeli government cannot be white-washed away with pablum and misdirectional cries of anti-semitism.

In fact, the only anti-semitic comments are from Neal, who, not satisfied with the ACTUAL quote, needed to foam at the mouth and declare that they (the AWC) wanted to ‘exterminate the Jews’. That’s simply his fiction, which you compound by perpetuating it. HE links them to 4 or 5 arab terrorist/pro-armed palestinian revolutionary groups. In fact, it’s incongruous to say AWC supports warfare by palestinians. Conversely, you burry your head in the sand and ignore the excesses of the Isrealis. So who exactly is blind here, the AWC, which condemns extremism on both sides, violence on BOTH sides, or you, who advocates extremism in your foriegn policy, and wilfully reprints nonsensical claims that a group which is actually promoting a peaceful resolution is in fact supporting and ADVOCATING FOR armed conflict AND murder – while with the same mouth urging Isreal to be “tough”?

  2. The term was coined as a supposedly polite euphemism for judenhass and has never meant anything else; the etymological fallacy card has been played repeatedly, including by Hitler’s buddy, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem.

    Pfui.

  3. It’s Peev again; Look, Mitch’s troll!
    He’s out on long-winded parole,
    His OCD need
    Can’t be sated by weed
So he’s back taking comment control.

  4. Peev, try using Firefox, it has a spell check built in.
it’s spelled anti-Semite with an “i” you spell it both ways and it’s spelled Israel.
    just a friendly hint.
But Joel is right, Anti-Semite= judenhassen.
And the “jew extermination” is implicit in the PLO charter as well as all of the “palestinian” groups charters in the Israel has no right to exist clause. If the AWC supports these groups the de facto supprot the destruction of Israel.

Also if the “palestinians” are “Mesopotamiam[sic] origined[sic] Arabs” they cannot by definition be Palestinians, as the Palestine and Mesopotamia are 2 quite different geographic areas.

  5. The “Palestinians” could have peace tomorrow if they wanted it. Acknowledge Israel’s right to exist. Sadly, they aren’t too bright.

  6. the only anti-semitic comments are from Neal,

I’ll assume that Peev doesn’t know that Neal is actually Jewish.

  7. Peev, don’t even try to defend these Jew haters. Israel is a very liberal country that does everything it can to limit casualties amongst the neo-Nazis that surround it. The so-called Palestinians are nothing but tools that the far right uses in its efforts to exterminate the Jewish state.

For proof, when was the last time you saw the right wingers/left wingers demand that Jordan give up the Palestinian land that it occupies (trans Jordan). Why don’t left wing protestant churches demand that Eypt tear down its “wall of seperation”? How come no one complains that almost the entire Arab world has been clensed of Jews?

  8. Chuck,

Those are questions to which you’ll never get answers from the left.

    Others:

    1) The Israelis have spent the last sixty years saying “knock off this “no right to exist” bit, and we’ll get along fine” – and they’ve proven it by giving Arab Israelis rights and security that no (non-ruling-class) Arab has in the Arab world! What is the problem with simply acknowledging Israel’s right to exist?

    2) The Palestinians left, largely, because of Arab propaganda about the atrocities the Jews would commit. Israel has opened the door to any who want to return and co-exist peacefully, for decades. If this “crisis” is about the “palestinians'” rights, why won’t the “Palestinians” and their Arab “benefactors” take advantage of this fact to settle the “palestinian” problem?

    3) OK, so the Arab world has convinced the “Palestinians” that they can’t go back to a Jewish-occupied “homeland”. OK – there is plenty of room in the Arab world to re-settle every single Palestinian in every single camp. Indeed, as Chuck noted, Arab nations occupy plenty of land that is rightfully “Palestinian”; Jordan fought a war in 1971 (or right around there) to expel them from their own land, something Israel never did! So – if they don’t want to send the Palestinians back to Israel, why won’t the Arabs cooperate to get people out of the camps in which they’ve lived now for generations? (Not really a question; the camps are a political bomb for the Arabs – one that occasionally blow up in their faces, as it did with the Jordanians and Lebanese).

    4) Why won’t you American liberals ever acknowlege any of the above, in and among your litany of condemnations of Israel, the only liberal (indeed, socialist) democracy in the Middle East?

  9. to respect Peev, we really need to start calling these Arabs, “Mesopotamiams”

  10. As most of you know, historically there is no such thing as a “palestinian” person. Anymore then there is a race/ethnicity called “Applachian” in the US. The so-called Palestinians were invented in 1967 as a tool to use against the Jewish state.

  11. THe term Palestinian was used before 1948, it referred to Jews living there.

  12. Yoss regarding Peev:
“…So he’s back taking comment control.”

Perhaps he needs Comment Control diapers. We could call them Bloggies, Blathers, or Whoops I Crapped in Your Comment Section!

  13. “Palestinian” was an invention of the Romans and is a corruption of “Philistine”. The Romans wanted to dilute Jewish national identity, so they created the province of Palestine”.

to respect Peev, we really need to start calling these Arabs,
    “Mesopotamiams”

I recommend “Philistine”. It is far more accurate in so many ways.

  14. Palestinian, at least to the best of my knowledge, was not a specific ethnic group, like it is refered to today. The way I understand it, you had Palestinian Arabs, Palestinian Jews, Palestinian Christians. The area that was known as “Palestine” was fairly broad.

  15. Agreed Chuck, though the term is commonly used now to refer to Palestinian Arabs. The proper term probably is Bedouin, namely, the nomadic tribes of the Saudi penninsula.

And Mitch, if not allowing Neal to participate means that they decided, in reviewing his screed, that saying things like “its not much of a stretch of the imagination” to then stretch the imagination to say that they advocate murdering Jews.. well, sounds to me like they made a wise decision to exclude a nutjob.

  16. Agreed Chuck, though the term is commonly used now to refer to Palestinian Arabs.

As a result solely of 40 years of Arab propaganda.

So I’m confused – is he still antisemitic?

Neal, being Jewish, is emotionally involved in the argument. Many leftist groups DO actively support the intifada; remember how many leftist American college kids (including the late Rachel Corrie) went to the camps to “help” the “resistance?” How does one distinguish sympathy for the “political” aim of destorying Israel with the military one?

It’s like trying to extricate sympathy for the Sinn Fein with sympathy for the Provos, only more so, since the IRA at least eventually came to the bargaining table.

  17. sounds to me like they made a wise decision to exclude a nutjob

    Must…restrain…self…

  18. I always find this subject interesting. Why do so many American liberals hate Israel? And related, why do so many leftwing Protestant churches hate the Jewish state? I think some of the second question may be related to these churches having ties to anti-Semitic churches in the Mideast. Such as a large church led by a St Paul Democrat that voted last year to “study” a boycott of Jew made goods.

  19. Chuck, those left-wing Protestant churches see the “Palestinians” as victims, underdogs, and oppressed. That helps them overlook the fact they they are intolerant, bloodthirsty barbarians.

There are few people more sincerely deluded than liberal Christians.

  20. Int’s intereswting that when you poitn your fingger at the protesters for being ante-semitic you have FOUR FINGERS pointing back at you, because you didn’t mentsion one word about the NATIVE americans for whome we’ve’ done exactly the SAME THING as the Iraraelis did to the Indians or rather the Isrsrelies did to the Paslentininans do the Americans, and you are being a HYPOCERETE. I and have I not seen you say a word about the persecution of the Irish in Iriland, or for that matter you have said not ONE WORD about the Holecasut. So in your hpycrossrsary you are simultaneesouly ignoring both the racsim against the Jwes and the Peslensenitneans. Obviously you neocon nutzies are dleuded.

  21. Hard to tell with the unique spelling but it appears your arguement is that since no one is advocating everyone but native American’s move back to whatever country they came from, and that the Irish move back to the motherland and that, well something about the holocaust, then everyone is a hypocrite? Why pick the time line of when Europeans moved to this country? Move it back a few thousand years and have the Native American’s move back up the land bridge and have the Native, Native Americans retake the country. I was not aware that the Indians moved out of this country so that other indians could invade and drive the white man out. You know, so that we are EXACTLY like Israelis did the Palestinians by allowing them all to leave before all the neighbors attacked. All this brings up the logical question: just how drunk are you?

  22. Mitch, I wish you would be able to debate my girlfriend on this issue. (I wouldn’t inflict her on you, so if I drop by(to show you my new ‘toy’), fear not she is NOT in tow… unless I call first and warn you…;)

Anyway, what happened was, she read some book (I can get the title later, or perhaps you know it) written by a “Palistinian”, that details how Israel has no right to exist. She bought it hook, line and sinker. You can predict her reactiuon to the news from over there. So what’s there to do? Do you know a good book that telles the truth about the issue? She thinks she read the truth because she read the view of the poor downtrodden “Palistinians.” Hmmmmm…

  23. Note to all my friends and non-friends here, use Firefox or learn to spell….
    fracking idjits….

  24. I think the more accurate comparison would be if we made up a race called “Plainsmen” and demanded the return of land that is now the rez. Then we fire rockets onto Indian reservations and demand they give up the Plainsmen land they occupy.

  25. “The proper term probably is Bedouin, namely, the nomadic tribes of the Saudi penninsula.”

Peev, can you ever get anything right?

  26. Next thing you know, Peev will claim Tel Aviv used to be called Tel Arabi…

  28. I was at the rally yesterday.

I’m opposed to Israel’s incursion into Gaza, and opposed to Hamas’s firing rockets at innocent Israelis.

I saw the guy with the antisemitic sign. He kept running away from me. I was going to confront him. The fact the guy’s sign is carried in rightist blogs, makes me suspect he was a rightist blogger. He ran if anyone got close to him. He ducked being talked to.

  29. The fact the guy’s sign is carried in rightist blogs, makes me suspect he was a rightist blogger.

Except that these “protests” are positively sodden with anti-semitic signs and statements. Are they “rightists”, too?

Your suspicion is interesting, but we’ll need a lot more to go on than that.

Because I “suspect” he was really Brian Melendez!
