Who’s Afraid Of The Big Bad Media, Part VI

So a little over a month after Andy Birkey at the Minnesoros Monitor pondered Rep. Bachmann’s reticence about giving time to regional non-conservative/Christian media, and my challenge in turn to Al Franken, Amy Klobuchar, Keith Ellison, Betty McCollum, Growth and Justice leader Dane Smith and Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak, I can report the following:

  • Stuart Smalley:  Bupkes.
  • A-Klo:  Nada
  • Keef:  Zippo
  • Betty Mac:  Pfffft.
  • Dave Thune:  While not specifically part of my original challenge, I did ask Thune several times to come on the air for some questions about his “puking Republicans” slur.  We’ve not heard the last of that one, yet.
  • Dane Smith:  We had an excellent interview on the NARN a week and a half ago
  • R.T. Rybak: Well, glorioski!  We have confirmed the Mayor for this Saturday’s NARN broadcast!  The Mayor’s press contact and I just confirmed the details!  I will welcome the Mayor to the show on the broadcast this Saturday, May 3rd.

Kudos the the Mayor!

And hey, Andy Birkey?  Since Franken, BettyMac, Ellison and A-Klo don’t return my calls, why don’t you ask them why they are even more evasive around right-leaning media than Rep. Bachmann is around the left-leaning media?

Not that I’ll hold my breath or anything.

Mayor Rybak seems like a stand-up guy so I’m not too surprised with this one. I look forward to the show this Saturday!

    Mitch,

Ask Rybak what his plans are for Sharing and Caring hands once he’s stolen the place from Mary Jo Copeland.

I’ll resist the urge to call in say thank God I don’t live in Minneapolis. Since Tracy does have that unfortunate distinction, perhaps he would have a salient query for Hizzonner.

    Who is Keef?

And then ask Mary Jo Copeland if erecting a shrine to herself is part of her christian ethic?

I’ll bet she’d happily come on your program.

And if you think “A gift of Mary” isn’t named for Mary Copeland, you’re nutzies….wait, you ARE nutzies.. sheesh.

RT Rybak is a light-weight.. nice guy, but shallow, he’ll probably sound vapid, which would be good counterpoint as it allows for a consistency with Frau Bachmann, and lets you get someone on you can handle, as opposed to someone FAR brighter than you, like oh, Ellison, or Franken. You don’t want em, they’d shred you.

“Ellison, or Franken. you don`t want them, they`d shred you.” But if can understand basic english, you would know that he does want them, so your last post was idiotic

So helping and feeding the poor using no government or United Way funds, relying soley on donations is a personal shrine?

This from a commenter that treat someone else’s blog as a “personal shrine.”

And if you think “A gift of Mary” isn’t named for Mary Copeland, you’re nutzies

What is the name of Jesus’s mother, you nitwit?

lets you get someone on you can handle, as opposed to someone FAR brighter than you, like oh, Ellison, or Franken. You don’t want em, they’d shred you.

Must be why they’re not returning Mitch’s phone calls…they don’t want to sully themselves trouncing Mitch all over the air.

    Geez, you’re an idiot, Peev.

Franken couldnt shred his way out of a wet paper bag. Which is why he makes sure he stays in front of friendly audiences.

Peev, you would beat Sister Thersa to death because she was pro-life.

Mitch, if you ever do get Al Franken on, don’t ask him for any tax advice.

    Wow. Big talk!

I quite clearly do want them. And if you’re so sure they’d “shred” me, then call them up and tell them to man up (or in the case of McCollum, woman up) and come on out. I’m a respectful, civil interviewer, so they really needn’t worry. But nobody “shreds” me.

Franken? He’s a comic. Most comics need to either control the situation or be on home turf (stage, in front of a crowd) to “shred” anyone. Outside those conditions, they tend (with notable exceptions) to be brittle and petulant.

Ellison? He wouldn’t know how to work an unfriendly room; he’s never done it in his whole career.

Oh, yeah – this bit here:

RT Rybak is a light-weight.. nice guy, but shallow, he’ll probably sound vapid

    Wow. Presumptuous much?

which would be good counterpoint as it allows for a consistency with Frau Bachmann

    “Frau” Bachmann?

A Nazi reference? Is that what that is?

Even by the rather lax standards to which you’re held around here, that’s just lame.

and lets you get someone on you can handle, as opposed to someone FAR brighter than you, like oh, Ellison, or Franken.

Did I just get my intelligence insulted by an anonymous commenter?

Why, I do believe I did.

peevish says Mary Jo Copeland is guilty of the sin of pride? Oh, how horribly beastly of her.

The city is, therefore, justified in punishing her? Um, no.

Let’s compare. Mary Jo Copeland provides food, clothing and shelter to the downtrodden of the Twin Cities. Peev hijacks threads and casts aspersions on Mary Jo Copeland.

I know who I admire more.

What’s happened to Peev in these last weeks? I’m tempted to suggest that I’ve been hitting the nail on the head… but I already know that.
