If I Can Make It There…

By Mitch Berg

I spent the weekend in New York with the kids.  We got in yesterday evening.

I’ll have more to write about the whole thing later.  I’m still fried from the trip.

Actually, I’m mostly fried from having to deal with the airlines.  It took us three extra hours to get there on Friday, and 2-3 more to get home, because of cancelled/late flights.

However – as always – New York didn’t disappoint.

Much more later on.

I want a good Clown story *grin*

Regrettably, Angryclown was vacationing in another part of the country. Mitch’s Nixon-in-China moment lacked a Mao. Angryclown did offer his regards in the form of two call girls sent to Mitch’s hotel room.

One for him and one for Zam *laughing* Oh God, I just said that out loud!

  4. Chuck Says:

Chuck has visited Gotham a couple of times, but used Amtrak to get there. It may take longer, but no full cavity searches. And you are deposited right in the middle of everything.

  5. BradC Says:

AC, what’s the best way to get from the Wellington Hotel (7th Ave & 55th St) to Yankee Stadium?

  6. Mitch Berg Says:

Walk two blocks south to 53rd and take the “B” or “D” train directly there, I’d guess…

    You could check here.

Nah, Zam was on his own…

  8. BradC Says:

    Thanks, Mitch!!

  9. Badda Says:

The best way to Yankee Stadium?

Take the same way you use to get to Carnegie Hall.

  10. angryclown Says:

Leave it to Badda to blow a gimme.

Brad said: “AC, what’s the best way to get from the Wellington Hotel (7th Ave & 55th St) to Yankee Stadium?”

    Practice.

Dunno, actually. Angryclown hates the Yankees and, on the occasions he’s impelled by spite to go to the Bronx and root against them (last time, Game 4 of the 2001 Series), Angryclown usually takes the 4 or 5, which are East Side trains.

  11. Badda Says:

How did I blow it? I didn’t need to mention the punchline.

  12. angryclown Says:

It’s a classic joke for a reason, Badda. You can’t improve on a one-word punchline.

    Very zen.

  13. BradC Says:

    Angryclown hates the Yankees….

Well then, would you care to venture out to the afternoon game on July 23rd? We could use some allies in rooting against the Yanks!

  14. Paul Says:

Angryclown did offer his regards in the form of two call girls sent to Mitch’s hotel room.

Did the one for Mitch call herself Marisa?

  15. Paul Says:

Angryclown hates the Yankees and, on the occasions he’s impelled by spite to go to the Bronx and root against them (last time, Game 4 of the 2001 Series)

How did you resist dousing Tino Martinez and Derek Jeter with seltzer water at the end of that one?

  16. angryclown Says:

Good question, Paul. Frikken game went past midnight (making it the first November series game, if you recall.) And Angryclown had to be at the circus early the next morning. Full house at YankMe Stadium and Angryclown was the only one, outside the D’back dugout, who left the park pissed off.

  17. angryclown Says:

BradC invited: “Well then, would you care to venture out to the afternoon game on July 23rd? We could use some allies in rooting against the Yanks!”

Angryclown must work that day, alas. But Angryclown hopes you get to see a devastating, soul-crushing defeat for the Yankees.

  18. Badda Says:

Again, AC, I didn’t tell the joke… I referenced it. Like Uncle Milty said…
