The Price Of Compromise

Sure enough – on the TV this morning: “Suprcommittee Republicans are proposing $290 billion in new taxes!”.

Compromise is part of politics. But you can not lead with a compromise offer.  Doing so relies on the good faith of people who have none.

    In related news, Hope & Change President Obama announces plans to put 250 Marines in Australia, to be increased to 2500.

    While I don’t recall the issue, a few months ago I recall the Prez coming out and announcing “I want Policy A, but I’ll accept Policy B”. Hmmm. I wonder which one we’ll end up with? I’d love to play poker with these people.
