Now That’s Impressive

By Mitch Berg

Powerline has quite a track record, you betcha.

Deposing Dan Rather? Yeah, OK.

Top-ten blog in the business? Okey-doke.

But this? To American males of a certain age, this is big news.

From Scott Johnson’s mailbag:

I’m Donald “Buck Dharma” Roeser from Blue Öyster Cult, lead guitarist and the author and vocalist of “Don’t Fear The Reaper.”

I’m a longtime frequent Power Line reader, and I’m enjoying the play BOC and The Reaper have recently gotten on the Power Line blog, in the “Don’t Fear the Professor” and “More Cowbell” posts.

What can one say…?

Wow. I saw them live (along with ZZ Top and Savoy Brown) in Denver in 1973. Don’t remember that much about it…

  2. Troy Says:

    Well, you could say:

“With a purposeful grimace and a terrible sound
He pulls the spitting high tension wires down”

  3. angryclown Says:

    That’s a good song, Troy.

Angryclown’s not as big on “Reaper”, but as long as BOC’s limiting their pro-suicide message to the rightwing blogs these days, Angryclown will look the other way.

I’ve always liked their shows. I’ve seen them at least a dozen times, and when they tour upstate NY it’s always a good time.

Since the clown’s pulled politics into this, I’d have to say that this riff’sthe perfect comment on the Democrat’s upcoming summer. Ya gotta love the she wolf and the snooty going at it.

  5. Badda Says:

Buck reads Powerline?!?!?! Holy effing shit!

  6. juanito Says:

    It’s been decades, but

    Soft White Underbelly

    Do I remember that correctly?

  7. Badda Says:

You do remember that correctly… and the Stalk-Forrest Group. And Oaxaca.

  8. Troy Says:

*rolls eyes* I’m sure they were worried, angryclown.
