Congratulations Are In Order

The DFL retains two absurdly-safe Senate seats in special elections last night:

In Brooklyn Center, registered nurse Chris Eaton won the seat formerly held by DFL Sen. Linda Scheid, who passed away this summer after a six-year battle with cancer. Rep. Jeff Hayden, an incumbent legislator who represents south Minneapolis, will take the Senate seat of DFL Sen. Linda Berglin.

Hayden and Eaton will now enjoy a one-to-four-year vacation, as they join Tom Bakk’s do-nothing Senate DFL caucus.

  1. I was walking on the street in South Minneapolis yesterday, and there was a van pulled up on the corner (on park property) with a group of people holding VOTE signs. One of the sign holders was an African American gentleman. There were two other people of color walking in front of me. He said to them, “Get out and vote!”. He looked at me (a white guy) and said “How ya doin?”
I thought that was just classic.

  2. Kermit, you missed a golden opportunity.

When you heard the gentlemen encourage the women to vote, you should have said; “Holy crap! I forgot! Thanks for the reminder, bro!”
