Signals

By Mitch Berg

Senator Roger Chamberlain writes:

I assume all you have heard Jimmy Hoffa’s comments regarding 90% of Americans who are not in the union.

My humble observation:

1. Hoffas comments, included – “War on working people”, “We’re your soldiers”, “Fight” and of course referred to Americans who don’t share his opinions as “Son’s of a bitches”

2. The President said nothing

3. The press has said little to nothing

And pick your lefty pundit – they’re either strenuously avoiding the subject, or telling themselves it’s the GOP’s problem (if I could have a nickel for every lefty tweet I read that was some variation of “ReTHUGlicons are weting teh pants over Hoffa! LOLZ”, I could retire early).

4. Our opponents agenda should be clear

5. Our opponents tactics, what they intend to do, should be crystal clear. It should no longer be a mystery to anyone.

6. We should make sure others have no illusions about the challenges we face

The biggest challenge we face?  We – the thinking, responsible Americans who make this country actually work – have to share a country with a movement whose intellectual and moral leaders are Jimmy Hoffa and Robert Espinosa.

Sounds like Hoffa wants to hold the political process “hostage” (see above comment).

  2. bosshoss429 Says:

And Debbie Downer Wasserman Schultz, the babbling head for the DemocRATs tried her usual BS and used the time she was given to respond to get in all of her party’s communistic talking points! Geez, that woman is a waste of space!!

Over on The Week, David Frum (I know . . .), is posting this quote from an 2003 NLRB teamster settlement with a picketed employer:

We will not batter, assault, spit on, blow whistles loudly near a person’s ear, throw any liquid or solid object at, or attempt to assault any non-striking employee of COMPANY or any member of his or her family or any employee of a neutral employee doing business with COMPANY, or any security guard or supervisor or manager of a neutral empoyee doing business with COMPANY in the presence of employees.
We will not threaten to kill or inflict bodily harm, make throat slashing motions, make gun pointing motions, challenge or threaten to fight or assault employees, threaten to sexually assault non-striking employees or their family members, threaten to follow non-striking employees to their homes, use racial epithets or obscene gestures at non-striking employees doing business with COMPANY, or on any security guard, supervisor, or manager of COMPANY or neutral employers doing business with COMPANY in the presence of employees.

I think that many left-wing pundits think that Hoffa’s words are just bluster. They haven’t seen enough of the rough side of life.
People like Hoffa go after regular working people trying to make a buck, not the “bosses”. Union intimidation and violence is not a fucking joke.
