   That McCain vid will have ’em rocking the nursing homes. Archival footage of McCain, Churchill, T.R.? Surprised they didn’t go with a Glen Miller score.

   Say what you will about McCain’s “Life Alert” status, that Obama video was just downright creeptastic. All that was missing was footage of a police tank crashing into the wall of a burning compound.

   I wouldn’t worry about a bunch of today’s entertainers climing into police tanks, Yoss. They lack the attention span for any serious antisocial behavior.

   Just count yourselves lucky that Obama doesn’t have the Rat Pack around making commercials. Then you’d have problems, pally.

   Well, the McCain one is clearly a spoof on something. Anyone know where the original is.

   As for the other one, pretty powerful stuff, which is why, as a rule, the Cons try to talk it down. Anytime ScaifeNet uses words like ridiculous or goofy, et al you know the Left must have nailed it on the head. For if it was ridiculous, why bother . . . .

   You’re usually quite sensible, Flash. But that Obama vid is cringeworthy. will.i.am shoulda hung it up after “Yes We Can.”

   Of course the McCain vid is just comical. No amount of minimalist music or quick cuts can disguise the fact he’s basing his appeal on long-dead politicians who don’t even appear on voters’ pocket-change. (McCain to staffer: “What do you mean there aren’t any film clips of Zachary Taylor?”)

   And what’s with the clouds? A reminder that McCain will be living up in Heaven soon?

    I dunno. My takeaway on the McCain ad is that he’s recommending people wear bowler hats. Ya know, like Churchill and TR. Problem is, the last prominent personage sporting a bowler was the Alex character that Malcolm McDowell played in A Clockwork Orange.
