Hva Er Det Norske Ordet For “Loughner”?

Fearless Prediction: the chorus of lefties who are now chanting that Anders Behring Breivik is “conservative” – to try to equate the accused mass-murderer with Eric Cantor and Michele Bachmann, naturally – will be chastened to learn that he was more “anti-Muslim” than actually political – and that “right-wing” means something very different in the context of European racial and religious politics than it does here…

…oh, who am I kidding?  Left wingers are never chastened for making overwrought, bigoted statements about American conservatives.

(See: Jared Loughner, Bill Sparkman, Larry Piderman, John Patrick Bedell, Maurice Schwenkler, the Tea Party “racist chants”…)

It’s only a prediction.

  1. I will say it again, because it can’t be over emphasized:
The insane come in all shapes, sizes and flavors. That won’t stop certain people with zero integrity from flogging the “right-wing” angle til their little paws get tired.

Reminds one of the old joke, I hate intolerant people.

  2. Other prediction: It will come out that this man hated George W Bush with an unhinged passion, posted rape fantasies about Sarah Palin, and thinks 9/11 was Dick Cheney’s way of hiking oil prices.

At this point the lefty bloggers will be silent about the guy’s political beliefs. The cycle will start up again in 6-12 months.

  3. Islamophobia IS a right wing political view. It is disingenuous of you to claim otherwise, or are you unfamiliar with some of the views of, for example, Herman Cain, who seems more open about expressing what the others are only slightly more subtle in saying.

I thought Juan Cole’s post this morning nailed it very well, and backed it up with the data from europol:
    http://www.juancole.com/
White Christian Fundamentalist Terrorism in Norway

The nature of the terrorist’s target also suggests a political basis for his actions; he was not random.

  4. DG, what part of he’s insane don’t you understand? Even most White Christian Fundamentalists or ‘Nationalists’ wouldn’t be able to walk around a camp for 90 minutes killing people in cold blood disguised as a cop. It takes a special kind of insanity to do that. Most normal people (even cops) puke and are shaken after JUSTIFIABLY killing someone. This man has no soul.

  5. Most of the right wing Christian types that I have met are the most generous people in the world. DG, if you were homeless, they would take you into their home, feed you, and do what is neccesary to get you back on your feet.

Some people are just evil. I do believe that the devil is in certain people. The conveinence store murdered in Iowa, the Arizona shooter, the guy who walked up to a pro-life protestor in Owasso Mich and put a bullet in his head, and this guy in Norway.

  6. oh God there’s another one, that teen in Iowa who killed those two people, he LAUGHED during his trial. I’m sorry but there are people that unless proven disturbed just need to be dragged out into the street and shot and have their body dumped in an ocean.

  7. I wish people who used the word “islamophobia” would define what it means. It has become a simple pejorative by some shallow-minded people.

  8. FYI, I remember DG blaming “the Right” for the Loughner shooting spree before they had even released the shooter’s name.

  9. Islamophobia IS a right wing political view.
If by “Islamophobia” you mean hating misogyny, totalitarian theocracy and murdering homosexuals, then you might have a point, Doggie. Those are ALL right wing political views. I’m still waiting for left wing condemnation of misanthropic Islamic beliefs and practices.
I am not holding my breath.

  10. Who can forget the hate-filled rhetoric of Paul Krugman when he jumped the gun on the Loughner shooting spree:

A Democratic Congresswoman has been shot in the head; another dozen were also shot.

We don’t have proof yet that this was political, but the odds are that it was. She’s been the target of violence before. And for those wondering why a Blue Dog Democrat, the kind Republicans might be able to work with, might be a target, the answer is that she’s a Democrat who survived what was otherwise a GOP sweep in Arizona, precisely because the Republicans nominated a Tea Party activist. (Her father says that “the whole Tea Party” was her enemy.) And yes, she was on Sarah Palin’s infamous “crosshairs” list.

Q: How can you tell Krugman is about to spew unfounded, ideologically based nonsense?
A: He uses the phrase “Odds are that . . .”

Herr Doktor-Professor Krugman is a Pulitzer prize winner.

  11. Islamophobia IS a right wing political view

That’s just patent nonsense. Check out the center-left Euro governments on the issue of Muslim immigration.

Seriously – your chanting points are just not working.

  12. I’m still not sure what “islamophobia” means other than a pejorative term.
We don’t have all the info yet, but it appears that the shooter did not go after Muslims.

  13. How can you tell Krugman is about to spew unfounded, ideologically based nonsense?
He sat down in front of a keyboard.
How can you tell Dog Gone is about to spew unfounded, ideologically based nonsense?
She sat down in front of a keyboard.

  14. That kid who shot the convenience store clerks in Iowa was a liberal, and emblematic of all other liberals, because I disagree with liberals.

  15. Wouldn’t it be nice if one of these liberal cowards actually engaged in a dialog instead of posting some brain-dead crap (Dog Gone) and then running away?

  16. Finger pointing aside, there are a few questions I’d like answered. How does somebody pretend to be a farmer and amass several thousand pounds of fertilizer to make a bomb in this day and age? Why did it take a Norweigian SWAT team ninety minutes to arrive on the scene? And most important, why didn’t they serve the guy a Bin Laden when they found him? That’s two shots and a splash of salt water in case you want to know.

  17. You know, it is so funny that so much stuff about Jared Loughner, the miscreant that shot Rep. Giffords, has been hidden by the lefty media.

First, the Loughners are liberal Jews and belonged to the same Synagogue as Rep. Giffords. Amy Loughner works for Pima county, where the left wing tool Sheriff “Blame Sarah Palin’s Gunsight” Dupnik presides. What the incompetent Sheriff has tried to hide is that Jared had made numerous death threats via telephone, not only Rep. Giffords, but to talk radio stations, as well. The idiot Sheriff could have done something about it and didn’t.

Of course, none of our resident left wing useful idiots, i.e. DG, Timmy the Toad, nor AC, would ever acknowledge this sort of information. They have to be good little party apparatchiks and foment the lies!

  18. why didn’t they serve the guy a Bin Laden when they found him?
Because it’s Norway. They are the beating heart of European liberal socialism. They practically invented political correctness.
There are two basic types of Norwegians. On one side you have Mitch and yours truly, who not only will speak their mind, but take no small degree of relish in doing so. On the other, you have the ones who just don’t want to ever make any trouble on any account, under any circumstances, for anyone. The former conquered the British Isles and Normandy. The latter sit on the Nobel Prize committee.

  19. why didn’t they serve the guy a Bin Laden when they found him?

To be the devil’s advocate; because they were cops. Their job – Norwegian or American – is to apprehend people, and shoot them only to defend themselves or others. Their mission is to see that he winds up in front of a judge.

And the mission would be the same for a US SWAT team.

However, Kerm has certainly summaried Norwegian sociology pretty capably.

  20. BossHoss: “First, the Loughners are liberal Jews and belonged to the same Synagogue as Rep. Giffords.”

“”We had a meeting of the Tucson Board of Rabbis. We all looked at our rosters from many years back. No one has ever heard of the family — him, his parents, any of them. I can say with absolute certainty that we do not know him in pretty much the entire affiliated community.”

    http://blogs.jta.org/politics/article/2011/01/12/2742519/loughners-jewish-mother-not-so-much

You can now retract. You stand corrected.

  21. However, Kerm has certainly summaried Norwegian sociology pretty capably.
I grew up with relatives who spoke English with difficulty (although they did speak it).
I still love pickled herring in sour cream.

  22. Hello people, neo-Nazi?! I think we know all we need to, although I find it odd that a neo-Nazi would shoot a bunch of white people, seems counterintuitive to their belief system.

  23. The media is now reporting that the shooter wrote a 1500 pg screed that condemned Islam and defended Israel. Kind of odd for a Nazi.
Perhaps the important part of that information is that he wrote a 1500 page screed. Sounds more than a little wacko.

  24. Michelle Malkin on the eagerness of the left to accuse the American Right of murder:

In the Giffords shooting, the Binghamton NY immigration cemter shooting, the Kentucky Census worker death/insurance hoax, Amy Bishop campus shooting spree, and Rep. Russ Carnahan bombing, and Faisal Shahzad Times Square bombing attempt, among others, liberal politicians and activists specifically libeled individual talk show hosts, Fox News, bloggers, and Tea Party activists as murderers. They went after the peaceful political free speech of their enemies and criminalized their policy positions without an iota of proof that such speech had any influence or impact on the real perpetrators of the crime. Even after the suspects were shown to have psychiatric problems, undecipherable political views, or views anathema to the conservative public officials and public figures bearing undue blame, leftist exploiters clung to their tar brushes.

    http://michellemalkin.com/2011/07/23/no-james-fallows-the-washington-post-doesnt-owe-the-world-an-apology/

Something else: If a conservative pundit or blogger initially accused al qaida of complicity the Norwegian shootings, why is this considered a slight against mainstream Islam or Muslims? We are constantly told by the left that there is no connection between the two.

  25. Easy answer, Terry. Liberals are lazy, and don’t expend much energy actually thinking about stuff. They depend on the marching orders to tell them what to think and say (see any Dog Gone or angryclown comment).
When Rep. West called the despicable Rep. Debbie Wasermann Shultz despicable the MSM gasped. But damn if they could dispute dispute it.

  26. nachman, I stand corrected. I had heard this from some colleagues in AZ. Guess that I should have fact checked that part better.

  27. I love it when I am proved right. I said
“Liberals are lazy, and don’t expend much energy actually thinking about stuff.”
    and immediately Clownie posts
    “breaking: He was a Nazi…”

Breaking: so are half of you Mitchketeers.

That would be game, set & match.

  28. Angryclown could kick your clammy green butt in an argument with one frontal lobe tied behind his back, Kermit.

  29. Let’s not play their game. When lefties say the guy was a right-wing extemeist, they’re right.

But he’s bush league compared to leftist murderers.

  30. “Angryclown could kick your clammy green butt in an argument with one frontal lobe tied behind his back”

Yeah, and all it takes to get that going is to move both lobes north about 8″.

  31. Angryclown could kick your clammy green butt in an argument with one frontal lobe tied behind his back, Kermit.
And yet it has never happened. At least outside of that exposed frontal lobe.

  32. Nazi=National Socialist

yea I’m all for national socialism…

Also AC is demonstrating Berg’s 7th to a teat.
