Fractured Aphorisms

By Mitch Berg

If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day.

If you teach a man to fish, you feed him for life.

If you toss a man a can of bait worms and tell him to figure it out, you feed him for life and give him the problem-solving skills he needs to truly succeed. Or feed him for a day.  One or the other.

If the man figures out a way to eat the bait as a guest on a show with Andrew Zimmern, he might be able to earn sufficient residuals to eat for a few days.

I thought it was “if you teach a man to fish, he’ll never willingly work another day for the rest of his life”. :^)

For the benefit of those who are not in my Facebook friends list:

If you build a man a fire, you warm him for an evening.

If you set a man on fire, you warm him for the rest of his life.

If you fire a man, you put him on unemployment.
