Berkeley Doesn’t Hate The Troops. Sort Of.

By Mitch Berg

Malkin:

The SFChron reports that “some council members added that they felt they owed U.S. troops an apology as well the many Berkeley residents who were ashamed and offended by their position. ‘To err is human but to really screw up it takes the Berkeley City Council,’ said council member Gordon Wozniak. ‘We failed our city. We embarrassed our city.’”

But.

The council refused to officially apologize. And the troop-haters remain unrepentantly bigoted.

Read the whole thing.  It’s huge.

I’ve been following this and it’s a huge issue. So much for “we support the troops and oppose the war”. It shows that the Democrats don’t support the troops. Code Pink, which has shared fundraising tables in St Paul with the DFL (I must learn to carry my camera with me), is working with the city of Berkeley to kick out the Marines. One of the resolutions was that the city encouraged people to “impede access” to the Marine office. They called our service men and women “killers”.

I believe if the Presidential election were held today, Obama would win. He represents the wackjobs in Berkeley. It could be a long 4 years for our military personal with him as CinC.

I wonder how kids who grow up in Berkeley rebel? I bet they become Christians, or join the Marines – that’s about all you could do. This will drive the kids there even further away from their parents – I predict a surge in recruiting from this area by June.

They got (threatened to get) hit where it hurts most. The wallet.

Now we know where their priorities REALLY lie.

Bill C, yeah, it’s kind of funny…..go to the Berkeley Chamber web site. Top of the home page are two photos of Chamber guy bringing donuts to the Marine office. “See, we aren’t all ignorant moonbats. You can call of that wacky boycott of Berkeley.”
