As I have said before and will continue to say, if the state government shuts down it is Mark Dayton’s fault. It rests on his narrow, boney shoulders.
At least the critical governor’s mansion will still have the critical chef and the critical gardener. We can’t expect Dayton to live like the bourgeoisie.
Perhaps we could amend the state constitution to allow the term “Lord”. Mark would like that.
I heard this play this morning and laughed at that. It has extra humor with hearing it with the pictures of Dimwit Dayton!
Well, it’s already started. The vehicle registration portion of the DMV website is already saying that is unavailable due to government shutdown.

Ben, I hope you’re right. It is very plausible considering Mad Mark’s track record as a professional quitter.
Mad Mark has played his gambit, he’s risking all of his pieces on this move. As time gets closer to the shutdown the GOP should take an increasingly harder stand against ANY tax increases. Like most bullies he’s really a coward at heart. I’m certain he’ll cave in short order, and the question will be who’ll want to stand with him and his lunacy in the next session.
Kermit and many of us have said HE’LL own the debacle at the end of the day, and he’ll pay a heavy price for that ownership.
I don’t think Mark Dayton is smart enough to anticipate the inevitable results of his intransigence. I suspect he doesn’t even know what the word intransigence means.
