Climb Off The Ledge, Hugh

By Mitch Berg

Romney wins one:

Mitt Romney captured his first win of the Republican presidential race, gaining most of Wyoming’s delegates at stake in GOP caucuses on Saturday. The former Massachusetts governor won six of the first eight delegates to be selected.

Until I got this news, I was worried we’d hear about Hugh holed up in a house with Britney Spears, with a stack of pistols and a crate of cigarettes, telling the coppers they’d never take either of them alive.

Glad to hear that was a premature speculation.

This big-big win shows that Romney has achieved juggarnaut status, and the momentum of his great victory will carry him to St. Paul in September and the White House in November!

The previous post should have appeared within open and close ‘hugh hewitt’ tags.

Hugh? Don’t you mean to include Rush? Or maybe Sean, or Ann? The political sleeze crew was so hard at work bashing Huckabee, that his victory in Iowa seemed to have all the signs of a Jones-town kool-aid party if it continued. Mitch, you’re in tight with the GOP, had they ordered the cyanide yet or were they still making the grape drink? (oh, I’m kidding).

Hewitt’s a nut, it’s not exactly news that he’d be weirded out.

Terry, I find it pretty hard to accept the Republici will accept a non-Evangelical, maybe, but it seems unlikely, especially in the South. As for winning, Romney?? That’s a bit of a stretch, he polls just about the worst of all of the major Republicans, he’s flip-flopped more than Brittney Spears has abused her children. He was an ultra-liberal Republican, far more liberal than Hillary, while Governor of Massechusettes. His opponent, should he (or god hopes not – she) decide to go after him. He has money, and a very nice hair cut – (hey Mitch, I wonder how much Romney pays to have HIS hair done?) – but not much else. He also has a couple of pretty big albatross’, one about paying labor within the law (as I recall), the other, well, perhaps YOU think Mormanism isn’t a little goofey, but I do – though most of the Mormans I’ve known are really ethical people. However, since I don’t know Romney, I don’t put him in that class. Any religion principally dedicated to building edifaces isn’t exactly eschewing idolotry (to paraphrase Luther) – so Romney has a ‘religious’ problem not because of himself, but because the religion itself is just a little weird, and guilt by association is a long-standing political tactic in this country.

    Actually, no, he doesn’t.

Hugh Hewitt has been a big-time Romney supporter literally since the moment he announced his candidacy. Hugh even wrote a book entitled A Mormon in the White House?: Ten Things Every American Should know about Mitt Romney.

Missing the point has become a Peev staple on this blog.

    What Brad said.

I don’t listen to Limbaugh much – like, 4x/year – and I never listen to Hannity, and Coulter doesn’t even have a show so what would she know?, but I’m not aware that any of them has a pick in the race yet.

As Brad notes, Hugh has been an unabashed Mitt supporter for well over a year.

Would you care to restate your thesis?
