Culture Of Violence

Last Friday, Gordon “Gordy Walnuts” Hintz went all verbally Tony Soprano on his Wisconsin Assembly colleague, Republican Michelle Litjens, bellowing “You are f**cking dead” after the Assembly voted to pass Governor Walker’s Budget Repair bill.

Hintz – who has other issues going on – has apparently offered an apology:

An Oshkosh Assemblyman apologized to a colleague Monday for comments he made on the floor of the Assembly last week immediately following a vote on a contentious budget repair bill.

Litjens said she accepted the apology, but has asked the Assembly leadership to discipline Hintz.

Milwaukee talk show host and blogger Charlie Sykes broke the story – and wonders, accurately I think, if it would have ever been heard if not for alt-media attention.

Obvious exit question: would Hintz have apologized or even acknoledged the comment if I had not broken the story on my show/blog this morning?

Oh, what do you think?

  1. I think we all know the answer. I was heartened to see that Gordo was helping out the local economy in my hometown, however. Next time he might want to try Wilmar Candies down the street instead.

  2. Ditto Mr. D’s first sentence. Heard a report on WI from NPR and for NPR at least, it was fair in laying out the issues and the friction both sides face as ‘Sconnie has a real budget crisis, not the same one MN faces with the HAL9000 telling us what we have to spend. It mentioned the WI assembly vote and subsequent “Show of Strength” (Democrats yelling Shame! Shame!) but did not mention the death threat. Hmmm, can’t imagine why. And here I thought ‘Sconnies are so classy… http://americanglob.com/2011/02/28/wisconsin-protester-photo-of-the-day/

  3. If that’d been my wife, I’d have knocked that punk out cold. The cleaning lady could have wiped his apology up off the floor.

  4. Its SOOOOOOO conforting to hear that after Der Leader’s great “Can’t we all just get along” speech in Tucsan that the Dems are leading by example.

The assaulted rep was on Laura Ingraham this morning. Needless to say, the DemocRAT that said this sure looks bad.

  5. I did a media/internet search last night. Total 100% media blackout on this story. One legislater (male) threatens to kill another one (female) on the assembly floor, and this is not news. Only MSM mention was in the Oshkosh paper (where he is from) and they just kind of blew it off.

Sounds like a cliche, but imagine if the rolls were reversed. A Republican male legislature threatening the life of a Democrat female.

  6. And to say “yes” to your point, Mitch. Yes, this shows the importance of alternative media. This is why the left wants to control radio and the internet.

  7. To say it was an outburst under duress is a cop out.

That scumbag’s heart was seething with violent hatred, and he chose a woman to spew it upon; *that* is the story that needs to be told.

  8. Good thing the MSM is “in the bag” for conservatives! All that reporting on this issue out there is BLINDING!!!!

  9. Also interesting that both Reps., Hintz and Litjens are from Oshkosh. Makes it seem less likely that Litjens was just the first Republican that Hintz saw.

  10. Scott,

Therein lies the problem. Left nut men just hate attractive conservative women. We’ve seen it time and again.

I’m right there with ya’ on the threat piece. Had that been my wife, I would have kicked his butt while wearing an Obama ’08 shirt.

  11. On another note, Ms. Litjens is a business owner, so obviously, Hintz doesn’t think she knows as much about economics as he does.

If you Google her, the first two pages headlines are about that exchange and the threat.

  12. In the comments section of the Oshkosh Northwestern the libs are making this guy out to be a hero.

Lets face it when Democrats called for a “New Tone” they meant that Democrats should get nastier and Republicans should just take it.

  13. Hey Boss, In the GOP/Conservative circles we get the likes of Litjens, Palin, Bachmann, the FNC gals, on and on.

The Dims get Big Mak, Kahn, McCollum, Hillary, A K, Pelosi, Boxer, Reno…………..UFFDA!!!

Maybe that’s why Hintz likes the company of hookers.

  14. Scott, don’t forget Laura Ingraham and Michelle Malkin. Both very beautiful women.

    They also get Janet Reno.

Far be it from me to go “there”, but I feel absolutely ZERO compunction to respect their side after the last 10 years. The trump card for the left’s “women of beauty”? Andrea Dworkin.

Thanks for posting this. Further proof that libturds have their heads up their asses and can’t be reasoned with.

Along these lines, I have two friends that are solid conservatives and business owners. Their sons go to Moscow U in Madison and they saw them in the crowd carrying protest signs. Respectively, their grades are not very good, which prompted calls to each of them asking why they weren’t in class? (I’m glad that I wasn’t on the receiving end of those conversations) After the lame liberat excuses that we’ve been hearing and that the professors were there, too, they were told that they should be in the library or in their rooms studying, not protesting. The bottom line was they both froze their expense accounts until their grades came up. Even appeals to their moms, also conservatives, yielded no mercy!

I now have four new heroes!

  16. Boss, glad to hear that some people are willing to hold those who engage in bad behavior accountable. They should also sue UW to reclaim the tuition for their kids for the time the Profs were out.

My nephew happened to visit the Madistan Campus early in the protests. He joined the tea party side and has decided against UW. My sister and her husband have raised two good kids.

Are you sure that she is a woman, Bill C.
My friend’s cousin lives in Florida and has a job delivering pizzas and this one time he delivered a pizza to Janet Reno’s house and he asked her if he could use the bathroom and she said “sure” and my friend’s cousin says that when he went in the bathroom he saw the seat was up.
    Just sayin’.

  18. OK guys, how about a couple more comparisons just for the cheap fun of it.

    Janet Napolitano or Nikki Haley?

    Madeline Albright or Dana Perino?

I always thought Madeline wore her dresses too short (anything above the ankle), it’s been a vision I’ve never been able to get out of my head. Begs the question is there a successful treatment for recurring night terrors?
