How’s All That Civility Talk Going For Ya?
By Mitch Berg
Tennessee Democrat Steve Cohen compares Obamacare repealers to Nazis:
“They say it’s a government takeover of health care, a big lie just like Goebbels,” Cohen said. “You say it enough, you repeat the lie, you repeat the lie, and eventually, people believe it. Like blood libel.
Let me take a moment to say that Governor Palin was ever-so-slightly in error, calling the attacks on her (implying that her rhetoric caused the Tucson shooting) a “blood libel”. The term she may have been looking for was “gutless slander by a bunch of worthless, cowardly scumbags”.
But I digress.
“The Germans said enough about the Jews and people believed it–believed it and you have the Holocaust. We heard on this floor, government takeover of health care. Politifact said the biggest lie of 2010 was a government takeover of health care because there is no government takeover,” Cohen said.
Actually, “Politifact”‘s story about “The Biggest Lie” was, in fact, the biggest lie.
And Steve Cohen needs to join his Democrat friends in retirement.

I always liked Dennis Miller’s take on Nazi analogies… The only thing that you can compare to the planned, systematic murder of more than 6 million people is the planned, systematic murder of more than 6 million people.
Also, in an NPR report this morning, their reporter at yesterdays healthcare debate said the Democrats came “armed” – with stories of individuals allegedly helped by Obamacare. Coming “armed” with information to a debate – only evil when Michele Bachmann asks Republicans to do it.

Waiting patiently for Paul Krugman to denounce this incivility in a strongly worded column.
Yes, you can stop laughing now.

Curious.
Has Blogger Berg FACTCHECKED Democrat Dan Cohen?
Why, yes, yes he has….Ridickulious!
…Developing.

Even though J Street (the attempted “antedote” to AIPAC) raised over $35,000 for Cohen:

This was too much even for them:

Let’s just say Cohen appears to be at least a Reform Jew, if he affiliates at all.
Godwin’s Rule being invoked, any discussion with Rep. Cohen about health care is over.

I don’t want civil discourse. I want to defeat these scumbags, and make everything they preach irrelevant.
January 20th, 2011 at 9:37 am
Uh, think it’s Steve Cohen.
January 20th, 2011 at 9:40 am
Doh. I guess it’s a Growe-th opportunity.
Will fix.

Perhaps someone should ask Rep. Cohen if he believes that Israel (read: Jews) should withdraw from Judea and Samaria back to the 1967 borders, whuch Abba Eban described as the Auschwitz Lines.
If Mr. Cohen believes the Jews are “occupying” Judea and Samaria – instead of liberating the territory – he has a lot to answer for, and not just for his irony.

“the Democrats came “armed” – with stories of individuals allegedly helped by Obamacare.”
One of the worst things our gov’t has done over the past few years is legislate due to antidotal stories. “I know someone who….so therefore we need a law that forces……”

Kermit’s favorite phrase is proven yet again.

He is a JINO.

Chuck, I find “antidotal stories” rarely cure anything.

Obama predicts that the Bears will beat Green Bay this weekend. Perfect. Let’s hope this works out as well as that Chicago olympics worked out for him.
January 20th, 2011 at 11:57 am
Let’s hope…
Er, no.
January 20th, 2011 at 11:57 am
Careful there, Chuck….that’s da (Super Bowl Champion) Bears you’re talkin’ ’bout.
January 20th, 2011 at 12:00 pm
I’m not sure what’s the bigger kiss of death — Obama’s endorsement of da Bearz or Brett Favre’s endorsement of the Packers.
January 20th, 2011 at 12:02 pm
Chuck: Obama claims he didn’t lose the Chicago Olympics – the clock ran out on him. As for his pigskin pick, if the Bears fall behind, the Master Plan is to have union officials swoop onto the field and ask for the Packers to produce local work permits. If they cannot, they’ll break their legs. It’ll make good television. CBS is planning on capturing the assaults in high-def and 3D.
January 20th, 2011 at 12:29 pm
Nah, if Da Bears appear to be losing the FCC will simply shut the network down and order a “Fairness Doctrine” investigation. Either that or cut in a Janet Napolitano “wardrobe malfunction” to induce mass nausea.
January 20th, 2011 at 1:04 pm
Kermit: Do not use the phrase “Janet Napalitano wardrobe malfunction” anytime close to the conclusion of a meal. My cheesburger almost reappeared.

Cue Jake Blues as Stein.

Sorry, BS. When it comes to Homeland Security we should deploy all the weapons in the tool box.

Kerm, I think you just crossed into swiftee territory! Bye bye lunch, clean up in cubicle 233!
January 20th, 2011 at 1:43 pm
Small problem, Kermit. I’m not a terrorist. But, I suppose in the interest of not appearing to profile, I have to be assumed to be a murderous Marxist thug.

Kerm, I think you just crossed into swiftee territory!
That has *not* been Factchecked™ nor is it Multisourced™ therefore it is unsuitable for publication.

BS, in the eyes of the DFL and Education Minnesota (pardon the redundancy) you have been a terrorist for several years now.
And I would never cross into swiftee territory without someone I can trust on my six.
