I got a laugh out of that. I have been writing news and technical stuff for a very, very long time – like, pretty much my entire adult life. Writing clearly and accessibly means writing simply.
Not sure exactly what algorithm they use, but as a general thing, for someone to take that as an insult at me is…kinda myopic?
If we assume the site that “calculates” this stuff has a semi-valid algorithm, it means I’m a good writer.

I have to agree Mitch. Whenever my writing style gets obtuse and thick, it’s generally because I am dealing with things I don’t understand well enough to write clearly and simply about them; or when I don’t care enough about my potential readers to take them time to make what I am saying direct and clear

But if that’s what it was – a teaser from a publisher – then, Peev, what IS your policy on using potentially misleading out-of-context “quotes” to try to slime your opponents?
And – assuming it’s true – given that the issue IS nothing if not contentious, there are two sides to the story.
As opposed to Ritchie’s story (remember that?), which – given Ritchie has just copped to everything MDE and the GOP have accused him of – is pretty well down to one side.
