Kos Goes to Newsweek

I think it’s great news – for Republicans.

Jay Reding agrees, I think:

They’re apparently going to “balance” Kos with a right-of-center blogger, yet to be announced. Then again, I doubt anyone would want the job of “balancing” Kos unless it’s by giving him medication. I’m not sure of a writer whose name doesn’t rhyme with Fan Molter that even comes close to the level of pure ideological spite and relentless cheerleader-ism that Kos spews on a daily basis.

Then again, it’s probably good news for the Republicans in the race—the more exposure people like Kos get, the more people see the true face of the Democratic Party.

I may just start posting Kos’ kolumns prominently, every chance I get.

  1. MON asks “How do you lefties get pass the “Screw ‘Em” comment by Kos?”

Flash ans #2 : “Rush!, Killian Memos! (AC please help!)”

  2. I want to be sure I’ve got this right, Flash

Careful, Joel. You’ll soon earn a post about how you’ve changed over the years.

    🙂 to all

  3. MON — you did both. After the quote, you wrote: “Keep in mind that Eric Black is on the Hillary!/Mediamatters gravy train and even he can’t swallow their smear.”

I’ve read Black’s article; it’s clear to me that he actually does, contrary to what you say, “swallow the smear”/think that Limbaugh was smearing all antiwar vets, not just the MacBeth types, but doesn’t think (as your quote shows) that a failure to do so proves somebody’s not fair-minded.

I’m kind of on the opposite side of that — I think it’s possible for a fair-minded person to think that Limbaugh probably was referring to all anti-war vets, not just the phonies, but very quickly and deftly recovered while talking about other stuff and cleverly slipped in the MacBeth reference to cover his butt; I think that gives Limbaugh far more credit for being able to keep about eight things going in his mind than I do.

(Then again, most lefties I know have a far higher opinion of Limbaugh’s cleverness than I do, just as most righties have a far higher opinion of his wisdom.)

Mitch: 🙂 back. All joking aside, the thing that distresses me about Flash’s expressed views of the right side of the local blogosphere is that I have almost exactly the opposite view that he does. I know of several local rightwing bloggers who have gone out of their way to express tolerance for my own disagreement from them on various issues (you, King, Brodkorb, Captain Ed, Jamie, and Hinderaker — despite his manifest shock when I mentioned, before an appearance on your NA segment, that I’m vaguely pro-abortion-choice [“Yup,” I added, “I’m pro-death — capitol punishment, self-defense, abortion; the whole bit.”] among others), and I find it hard to reconcile his views with mine.

The easy way would be to impute bad faith to Flash, but I won’t, because I don’t think he’s dishonest, just wrong.

  4. joelr, I see your point

“I’ve read Black’s article; it’s clear to me that he actually does, contrary to what you say, “swallow the smear””

In his first post on this issue, he clearly “swallowed the smear”, then he admits his mistake “coughs the smear back up” then “chews the smear” for a while, then “chokes the smear down” while acknowledging it might not taste so good to everyone.

    How’s that?

  5. the Killian’s memos were done on a computer, when that has been proven definitively false.

So false that it cost the most powerful and respected anchor in America his job and career.

    *rolls eyes*

  6. And AC, these are the same people who think the Killian’s memos were done on a computer, when that has been proven definitively false.

Flash, where DO you get that?

Do you have source other than Democrat Underground?
