A Humble Prayer
By Mitch Berg
Dear father in heaven, or whatever is up there: if I promise to live a life of service and virtue and praise, can we please, please, please let this be true?

THAT should remain the face of the Democrat party.
Can I get an Amen?

Ay-MEN! And alleluiah!

Can’t wait to hear what Keith Olbermann has to say about this. Ooops – I guess I’ll have to; Olbie’s been suspended by MSNBC!

“Ooops – I guess I’ll have to; Olbie’s been suspended by MSNBC!”
Ain’t this rich?! Olbermouth caught with his pants down.

What is it with these politicians and hanging on to power? Pelosi is 70. Oberstar is 76. My own senators, Inouye and Akaka, are both 86. Go away, already!

Not shocked that a person as obtuse as Pelosi would run for leader, make that minority leader, after leading her party to such a devastating defeat. At least Gingrich had the common sense to step aside after his side took a shellacking under his leadership. SanFranNan was still predicting that the Dem’s would hold on to the majority a few days ago (Psst, Madame Speaker, you can’t believe anything in the Minnsota Poll, it’s done to keep the nose ringed dumb bells in your party loyal and manning the phone banks and vote tabulators all the way up until the stern goes under). Wonder what model of plane the minority leader gets?

Terry – And In-no-way just get re-elected! He was in office before the original Hawaii 5-0 aired! What the hell?

A blogger passed away and his soul began an ascent upward. It passed through the clouds and arrived at pearly gates. A man who appeared to be Harry Reid was at the gate.
“Where is Saint Peter?’ Said the blogger.
“This way” said the gatekeeper.
The soul found a seat waiting for him next to a large throne. On the throne was Nancy Pelosi.
“What gives? Where’s heaven?” Said the blogger.
Pelosi smiled and said “Quite a bit up there?”
“What did me in?” said the blogger.
Ms. Pelosi, a ghostly presence on her throne replied “I’m “whatever is up there. You should have been more specific.”

Pelosi won her house race this past week with 80.2% of the vote. She’s probably not accustomed to accomodating opposing viewpoints.
(Her opponent got 21,200 votes. Who knew there were that many Republicans in San Francisco. Must be leaving under assumed names, meeting in underground locations signalled by chalk marks on mailboxes, etc…)

Also, if Nancy wins, that means everyone takes a step back down the ladder. Wonder how Hoyer and Clyburn wil feel about that?
November 5th, 2010 at 3:23 pm
Wow, talk about not getting it. Independents have an 8% approval rating of her. Can’t wait to see her hand the gavel over to Boehner and didja hear that our little firecracker Michele is running for a House leadership post? These next two years are going to be fun. C-Span will be more entertaining than CNN and MSNBC

If there is any justice in the world, it will be an open cockpit Stearman bi-plane!

Terry;
You are spot on. They never leave because they can’t hold real jobs. And Harry Reid is also like, what, 90? These guys could croak in the middle of a vote for Christ’s sake.
Well, at least Chip Cravaack put Jimmy Oberspend out to pasture!
November 5th, 2010 at 4:18 pm
Terry they will go away the trick is to replace them with someone reasonable.
The very first thing Boehner should do is sell San Fran Nan’s plane and end the program that allowed it. Do it in public and point out the hypocrasy of demonizing the auto execs (amoung others)while flying coast to coast on our dime while the country is broke.

i too am happy to hear Ole Nasty Nan is going to run. Time to start wagering on how long before they begin eating their own. At the end of the day which Dems are going to survive, the uber liberal, the middle of the road, or the blue dog types?
November 5th, 2010 at 5:08 pm
Scott it’s going to be the uber libs. They live in districts that are 70% plus Democrat. They have nothing to worry about.
Some lib on Mourning Joe this AM said the Blue dogs lost because they weren’t liberal enough. Even Creepy Liar Lawrence O’Donnell couldn’t abide by that level of denial.

I had something more like this in mind…

Johnny,
“Market driven” and “family values” come together…
November 7th, 2010 at 7:28 am
I don’t see how letting “this” be true could possibly help the country. And I think that should be our priority now. We need some other sort of prayer – but not Johnny’s 😉

Mitch blasphemed: “Dear father in heaven, or whatever is up there”
Geez, when did you turn Unitarian? Angryclown thought you were a regular Republichristianist. Up in Heaven is God, with Jesus sitting right next to him. Both are armed with shotguns to keep out gays and foreigners. In their spare time, they intervene to turn college football games in favor of the team that most loudly proclaims the superiority of Jesusism while on camera.

I know. I know, Clown. Everything you say is true – indeed, I had no idea you were such a theologian.
I’m just trying to be ecumenical. It’s the Minnesota way. (I also snark about heretics behind their backs. That’s also the Minnesota way…)

Angry Clown thinks “Talladega Nights” was a documentary.
