Indictment

Chris Barden, GOP candidate for Attorney General, states his case against Lori Swanson – the latest in a two-generation uninterrupted chain of one-party domination of the AG’s office.

I urge you to watch the whole thing. A few “highlights”:

1:07 – Channel 4 tries to interview Swanson about the irregularities Barden found – and gets turned away.

1:45 – Part of the meat of the story – WCCO reports AG lawyers reporting being pressured to work cases primarily for Swanson’s political gain as well as that of her predecessor, Mike Hatch, especially by filing high-profile cases designed to pressure defendants into cheap fast settlements.  This isn’t completely news, if you’ve been reading Shot In The Dark;

2:30 – WCCO’s ITeam gives vital background on the allegations against the AGO.’

Watch the whole thing.

Tell a neighbor.

Remember it on November 2.

  1. It is obvious that Mike Hatch has his hand up Swanson’s backside and is using her like a puppet.

This should really P O every citizen of this state, regardless of political party. You can bet that had the AG been a Republican, the crap would have hit the fan long before now!

We need to get Darden elected. If he really investigates the fraud that was perpetrated during the 2008 election, perhaps we could recall Stuart Smalley, I mean Al Franken.

These actions are TOTALLY indefensible, yet I can’t wait for our resident lefties to try to defend them!

  2. I don’t give a lot of credence to Bardon’s claims, given he is one of the righties alleging widespread voter fraud without any substantiation.

Still waiting Mitch for you to make that connection between voters voting improperly and benefits to Democrats, or any connection whatsoever that the Democratic party at any time induced or attempted to persuade anyone to vote illegally. Because, you know, that IS a key element to your claim and to Bardon’s claim that Democrats try to steal elections with illegal voting. Without that piece of evidence, it topples like a house of cards in front of 50 mph straight line winds.

In the meantime, Hennepin County just came out with 6 indictments for voter fraud. Along with the 9 or 10 in St. Paul…….that makes 16 for the 2008 election — an unusually large number, given 1 or 2 at most is the norm (and those are usually unintentional).

You can bet that the only action from a Republican AG would have been to benefit the Republican candidate. Our MN election process is highly regarded nationwide for integrity.

Leaving aside the ad hominem tu quoque logical fallacy (of which Penigmablog seems to especially fond), you go on to undercut your own argument, such as it is.

So in two counties – the only two to examine their voter rolls so far – we have already found an “unusually large” number of chargeable offenses – and there are 85 counties to go. And neither Henco or Ramco are anywhere close to done working through the case backlog.

You just helped make Barden’s case for him. Thanks.

By the way, I asked you the other day – how much corruption IS acceptable? What level of corruption SHOULD we accept in our electoral system? You seem to be mighty tolerant!

You could make that bet. But you’d have no empirical or historical reason to.

Sorry, DG; you do not set my priorities for me. I’ll get to it when I get to it, and all your foot-tapping will have no effect.

While you’re waiting, perhaps, you can account for the fact that the “waves of racism” and “waves of violence” you were ascribing to the Tea Parties have pretty much been shown to have been Democrat-instigated PR frauds. Go for it!
