Contention

By Mitch Berg

In case you missed it over the past weekend – an internal poll shows that GOP House Minority Leader Kurt Zellers maintained a 24 point lead over challenger Katie Rodriguez in disatrict 32B.  It also shows that Tom Emmer has gone from a 3 point deficit to a ten point lead.

Just so we’re clear on this.

    SHOCK, a Red District still Red . . . developing . . .

  2. Mitch Berg Says:

    Flash,

Perhaps you missed the parts about “targeted race” and “13 point swing toward Emmer in one month?”

  3. flash Says:

Fun with numbers, yeap, got that. And targeted districts. Both sides talk the talk to their base. But by all means, spin your wheels. Low hanging fruit is always easier to grab.

Did you or did you not catch the quote from MAK?

And if the DFL didnt’ think 32B were SERIOUSLY winnable for them, would they commit Franken to appearing there?

I’m just giving you the numbers and the backstory. The spin is all yours.

  5. flash Says:

Yeah, shock that a Party leader fed red meat to a partisan crowd, nice. I usually hear such ridiculous partisan spiels from the Right, but it certainly isn’t newsworthy to write about

I’m very familiar with Zellers, he is up in “The Doctor’s” area and we talk about him all the time. But anyone from the outside looking in knows the makeup of that district is as Red as can be. I couldn’t stop laughing at your MDEesque scoop of such a non story.

But again, every moment spent on nothingness like this is time well spent . . carry on!

A Franken visit is “red meat?”

All the money the DFL’s spent on the assumption that 32B is “low hanging fruit” is “red meat?”

anyone from the outside looking in knows the makeup of that district is as Red as can be

I didn’t quantify “red or blue”, Flash. Read more carefully. I pointed out – correctly – that the DFL has been pouring money, prestige and names into the district, thinking it winnable…

…and, of course, the real important part; that 13 point swing toward Emmer and away from Dayton.

  7. Kermit Says:

Leave poor Flash alone. He’s working hard as he can to be a “centrist”.

  8. flash Says:

Froggy, you couldn’t find the center if somene showed you a dart board!

  9. flash Says:

Looking at most recent campaign finance reports in 32B, you have an interesting definition of ‘pouring money in’, but based on your use of the word pouring, then the GOP is FLOODING Zellers coffers. Are they worried, now I’m intrigued, maybe the story here is there is a there, there. Keep working on it, nothing else important to spend your time on! Oh, and boy those GOPers LOVE to golf when other people are paying for it!

    Flash

  10. Kermit Says:

Flash, I don’t pretend like you try so very, very hard to do. Unsuccessfully, I might add.

  11. Mitch Berg Says:

Nice try, Flash. You keep changing the subject.

Emmer gains 13 on Dayton in one month.

That (and Zellers holding back the Tic attack) is the story.

You can spin and back and fill and phumpher and all your usual MSNBCommunist jabberwocky you want. Doesnt’ change the point.

    Or the 13 points.

Non-stop asshat dancing from Flush; Panic in the party of Scrubs must be reaching critical mass.

“The One” has failed miserably and party of Scrubs is going to get it’s ass kicked, Flush.

    All over the country.

    Deal with it.

    Bwwaaaaahahahahaaaaaa!

  13. Mitch Berg Says:

He’s working hard as he can to be a “centrist”

Well, of course not; as he pointed out the other day, he just defines “center” as “wherever Flash is”. He doesn’t move the goal posts, he wears them.

It’s silly, of course. *I* am the American center.

  14. Kermit Says:

Mitch, was that a dart board? I can’t quite tell, being a suburban bumpkin like I is.

  15. MG-OsseoChampion Says:

Mitch, Is this a more accurate story?

“In case you missed it over the past weekend, Mitch printed a bogus internal poll for GOP incumbent Kurt Zellers It also shows that Tom Emmer and pigs can fly. Just so we’re clear on this.”

I am now addicted to your hilarious blog.

  16. Kermit Says:

    I think Ears is back.

  17. Mitch Berg Says:

    Kerm,

    Yep.

    “MG”/Ears,

    bogus internal poll for GOP

And you call it “bogus” based on…what?

  18. Kermit Says:

    Kinda sad, isn’t it?

  19. Bill C Says:

    I’m gonna take a shot at it….

    Bogus=any poll that doesn’t show a DFL’er ahead by at least 6.

Meaning their whole source for non-bogus polling is reduced to the Strib/Minnesota Poll.
