The Results Are In…

By Mitch Berg

…and in a very close-fought race, we have a near-upset in the running for the Twin Cities Unintentionally Funniest Leftyblog!

As of tally time, the results were:

  1. Minnesota Monitor (25 votes)
  2. Impeccable Liberal Credentials (23 votes)
  3. Susan Lenfestey’s “Clothesline” Blog (19 votes)
  4. Dump Bachmann (15 votes)
  5. MNBlue (8 votes)
  6. Norwegianity (7 votes)
  7. Cucking Stool (1 vote, apprently from a remorseful City Pages staffer on a vendetta)
  8. MNPact and Across the Great Divide (tie, 0 votes)

It was an exciting dash to the finish, but apparently “pretentious propagandablog funded by liberals with deep pockets that uses their “ethics statement” for toilet paper” trumps “deep political thoughts of left-leaning pr0n stars” by just a tetch.

Congrats to the winners!  And to everyone else – hang in there.  Next year is just 51 weeks away!

“pretentious propagandablog funded by liberals with deep pockets that uses their “ethics statement” for toilet paper”

you should add to your description of Mini Moni

“retirement home for under-employed left wing hack journalists and former editors”

    and of course

    “501(c)(3) public charity”

That description also easily is the most overblown hyperbole to exit your fingers/mouth/site today.

First, you’re ‘deep pockets’ have never been proven, just a comment someone you CLAIM (although I believe you) worked at MNMON, who you didn’t source, didn’t validate they had any knowledge at all, they got ONE contribution that you know of ONE – that hardly constitutes long-term backing – and as for ethics, where exactly is your ethics statement?

This is similar to your claim big tobacco was backing Franken, and your claim Kerry called the troops terrorists. Much hyperbole amounting to nothing, and about as intellectually honest as G.Gordon.Liddy or Bill Clinton on Lewinski.

  3. Yossarian Says:

A blog requires an ethics statement? Who knew?

I better get cracking on that.

  4. Mitch Says:

where exactly is your ethics statement?

To drive my enemies before me and hear the lamentations of his women.

  5. Master of None Says:

First, you’re ‘deep pockets’ have never been proven,

I have evidence of several Progressive Foundations giving grants to MiniMoni’s parent Center for Independent Media. One of these was for $100,000 from the Sunlight Foundation.

Furthermore, in a reply to one of my comments, Jeff Fecke used the term “liberals with deep pockets” to describe their source of funding. Do you really need a link?

    PB/JBaueer/Molly/Donkeyman/Peevish,

MoN has been holding MM’s feet pretty well in the fire. They are supported by someone who wants to pour a lot of money into the project (their bloggers used to get paid what would be a just-below-living-wage income – $1,500 a month according to my most recent information – for doing less blogging than I do on this blog for the love of the game – and I’m going to hazard a guess Jim Boyd and Eric Black aren’t getting paid that little).

Which is their right. Better there than somewhere useful!

And it’s not so much the presence of an “ethics policy”, as their unwillingness to abide by it.

  7. Jeff Kouba Says:

    Bill Clinton on Lewinski?

That’s not how the Starr Report told it. (Sorry, couldn’t resist…)

Remember folks, SitD is a satire blog now. No need to get to worked up.

Mitch, if you ever have a poll for the most unintentionally monotonous left-wing blogger, I’ve got a nomination for you.

There’s never a need to get worked up. It’s only dissent.

But some DFLers (not Flash) get really cranky when you bother them with all that “Free speech” and stuff.

    More on that on Monday.
