This Is Your Immigration Policy

¡Arizona es i occupado!

The federal government has posted signs along a major interstate highway in Arizona, more than 100 miles north of the U.S.-Mexico border, warning travelers the area is unsafe because of drug and alien smugglers, and a local sheriff says Mexican drug cartels now control some parts of the state.

But by all means, Left – keep blurring the distinction between legal and illegal immigration.  It’s done us so much good so far.

  1. Further, the commies at the ACLU are suing several sheriffs personally for enforcing the immigration laws!

I think that we should start a fund to launch frivolous lawsuits against the ACLU to keep them defending their idiotic actions, some of which may be unconsitutional in themselves.

  2. Sadly, the U.S. has ceded our sovereignty to the dangerous Falling/Fallen Rocks cartels for years, doing nothing more than putting up warning signs to stop them.

  3. I hate people who come from places further south than I do. When I was in my early 20’s I went to Mason City,Iowa. I saw a guy in the supermarket smoking a cigarette! In the open! Right between the ground beef and the cold cuts! I couldn’t believe it!
    Savages.

  4. A little light on facts, Mitch; especially considering the news this week on illegal immigration. I would recommend you read the whole thing, but I’ve excerpted the pertinent opening paragraphs below.

Factor into this that approximately half or more of the illegal aliens in this country did NOT come over the border illegally, but instead entered the country legally but overstayed their permits.

AND add to that the inconvenient fact for your argument that Obama has been deporting record numbers of illegals.

AND add to that the investigative reporting in Arizona that is turning up the profit motive of Governor Brewer and her cronies in promoting the changes to their state immigration policies that put an exploitive light on that legislation, rather than a legitimate answer to immigration problems.

Put all that together and not only do you have bad law in response to a factually misstated problem, you have a black eye for Republican legislation – in AZ and anywhere else it is being promoted – like MN. It is OVER REACHING government, it is duplicative and expanded government, it is an intrusion on our legitimate freedom, it is a dishonor to our Constitution, it is everything the right claims to hate about Obama, and the left. It is stunning hypocrisy, for money, not principle.

“U.S. Unauthorized Immigration Flows Are Down Sharply Since Mid-Decade
by Jeffrey Passel and D’Vera Cohn

    Report Materials
    Complete Report

Interactive Map: Unauthorized Immigrants in the U.S.
The annual inflow of unauthorized immigrants to the United States was nearly two-thirds smaller in the March 2007 to March 2009 period than it had been from March 2000 to March 2005, according to new estimates by the Pew Hispanic Center.

This sharp decline has contributed to an overall reduction of 8% in the number of unauthorized immigrants currently living in the U.S.-to 11.1 million in March 2009 from a peak of 12 million in March 2007, according to the estimates. The decrease represents the first significant reversal in the growth of this population over the past two decades.”

  5. DG,

You really must learn not to constantly argue by changing the subject or side-tracking to unrelated subjects.

It’s a blog post. Not a textbook. Not a legal reference. It’s not “light on facts”, because it presents merely, exactly one fact; parts of Arizona are in big trouble.

Are there many sides to the debate? Sure. And many facts to digest. For both sides.

But this post is not about patterns, or laws, or paranoid conspiracies about Governor Brewer.

    It’s about lawlessness in Arizona.

Nothing more and – this is important – nothing less.

  6. “Factor into this that approximately half or more of the illegal aliens in this country did NOT come over the border illegally, but instead entered the country legally but overstayed their permits.”

So we have what? 12,000,000 illegeals in the US. So only 6,000,000 came across the Mexico border. Well, that’s not alot, it’s like the entire population of Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota consists of people who came across the southern desert illegeally.

  7. Terry,

I’m originally from Mason City. Much of my family is still there. I can tell you that the savages have cleaned up their collective acts; they have banned smoking in much the same ways as Minnesota.

  8. “What surprised me was the level of support in both Republican and Democratic parties,” said David Daugherty, the Morrison Institute’s director of research. “Even when you sort of tear the bill apart and look at the pieces, people support it.”

Among all registered voters, 81 percent said they approve of the provision requiring people to produce documents verifying legal status. Ninety-two percent of Republicans, 79 percent of independents and 68 percent of Democrats supported the provision.

I wonder when Dog Gone will give up her extremist position re the arizona immigration law.

  9. My population thing….I meant to say the 6M is equivelent to the entire populatino of Wisc, or the combined Minn, SD, ND.

  10. Tsk, tsk. Person who cannot point to Pinal County on the map weighs in on Arizona illegal immigration woes.

  11. I have friends that live in Pinal County and they have armed themselves to the teeth, because it is literally becoming Dodge City out there.

One of the county sheriff’s deputies was ambushed and shot a couple of months ago. Not only has Sheriff Babeu received death threats, but so have every one in the department. Everyone in that department has received death threats and they fear for their families safety. Now, they have another cartel of criminals at the American Civil LOSERS Union and the lame stream Osama bin Obama propaganda machine are stabbing them in the backs!

DG, there is no such thing as “invetigative reporting” anymore; only gutter sniping, outright lies and smear jobs to support the socialist agenda of the left wing. Instead of doing your own sniping, why don’t you butch up, go out there and join those hero reporters of yours on the front lines? Trouble is, you won’t catch those cowards covering the real stuff. God, people like you are pathetic!

  12. A little light on logic, Dog Gone:

“approximately half or more of the illegal aliens in this country did NOT come over the border illegally”

So you’re arguing that the people who make it dangerous near the Arizona, US / Mexican border came here legally and overstayed their welcome?

“Obama has been deporting record numbers of illegals”

And your argument is that these actions by Obama reflect the general will of the Left regarding immigration?

“bad law … Republican legislation … It is OVER REACHING … it is duplicative … it is an intrusion on our legitimate freedom, it is a dishonor to our Constitution”

What is this? The special olympics of legal interpretation? (My apologies to the President for stealing his joke). Please support your crazy talk with reference to the text:
