An Announcement
By Mitch Berg
The economy is ailing, and probably heading for a long-term double-dip recession. Unemployment will above nine percent for a long, long time. Government (and government-assumed) pension obligations will soon crush what’s left of the government’s budget. We have terrorists stalking us. Our political process is broken, controlled by big-government liberals that collude with the media to shape perceptions – and perception is reality!
So let’s focus on what really matters, shall we?
Favre has informed the Vikings he will not return to Minnesota this fall, according to multiple reports.
Favre has sent text messages to teammates saying, “This is it,” league sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.
Ahem:
SHUT UP!
SHUT THE HELL UP! WHO THE HELL CARES!
This is like the TWENTIETH FARGING TIME Brett Favre has put a market and a sport and its bobbleheaded acolytes and its drooling hangers-on through this – let me take a breath to ensure I stay charitable – BRAIN-DAMAGED STUPID CHARADE.
SHUT UP! I DON’T CARE!
That is all.

I blame Tom Emmer.

If we have to be thinking of sports at all I’m more concerned about Justin Morneau right now that anything about Bret Favre!

Probably the most coherent thing I’ve seen written about this issue yet. Expect it to be on my site soon with my own analysis.

Correction: Obama Depression (not just a recession or double-dip recession)
Even the optimist Biden called it The Great Recession.

Of course Favre’s quitting. Matt Entenza might be governor, and he’s going to restore Minnesota’s greatness, starting with trying to teach Brett how to pronounce his last name phonetically.
Oh, wait, that’s homeschoolers that are big on phonics, not the MEA. Never mind. I blame Tom Emmer, too. Time to go off and havea good cry because Mr. Fav-re is quitting.
And still can’t pronounce his own name.

K-Rod, probably more accurate to call it the Reid-Pelosi-Frank-Dodd-Obama recession, as the seeds were sown as the Democrats took control of Congress, and especially by Barney Frank and Chris Dodd running interference for those underwriting the worst of the bad loans that went south.

Before laying too much blame on Mr Farr-vuh, recall that the AP, long time source of accuracy in reporting, broke the story, which was refuted by various members of the MN Vikings, including Ryan Longwell, supposedly Brett’s BFF on the team. Just sayin’…
