Irrational Exuberance
By Mitch Berg
Flip through the leftyblogs (or don’t; I mean, I pretty much have done it for you; you can thank me later).
Check out how many of them are chanting variations on “WaiterGate is the defining moment of the campaign” and/or “Emmer will never never evah! recover from WaiterGate!”
Huh.

Flip through the leftyblogs (or don’t; I mean, I pretty much have done it for you; you can thank me later).
I thank you every day for doing that, Mitch.
No surprise that the leftyblogs would want “Waitergate” to be the defining moment of the campaign. They’ve got two reasons for this:
1) Intellectual laziness; and
2) Would you want to defend Mark “Marty Feldman Eyes” Dayton on the merits?

Some stupid cannot be cured.

How come Republicans never learn how good, clean campaigns are run?
Where’s the GOP operative working a “Joe-the-Plumber” scorched earth background investigation on Mr. Erickson?
Where are the GOP union members picketing his mother’s house?
Where is the GOP special-interest group threatening to boycott his employer unless they fire him or cough up a “contribution?”

It’s impossible to get out of line when your nose ring is tautly connected to the ass in line directly ahead of you whose nose ring is tautly connected to the ass directly ahead of them and so on.

Yes, thank you. The thought of wasting my precious time reading something like Penigma is not…not…dang! I can’t even find a good expression.
Maybe a contest is in order.

Reading Leftyblogs is like gargling bleach.
Reading leftyblogs is like hammering a nail into your forehead.
Reading Leftyblogs is like licking a frozen lamp post.

Reading Leftyblogs is like licking a frozen lamp post.
I don’t even do it when triple-dog dared.

Reading lefty blogs is like watching Gilligan’s Island – for the commercials!

No, as it turns out now that Bachmann is calling for a DoJ investigation into the alleged illegal felon voting in the 2008 election…….and she, and Pawlenty, and Fox News are making those claims about felons and voting for democrats studies……. I’m betting that might actually blow up to be a larger defining disaster.
Although with his support for MN Majority and their felon voter claims, Emmer could end up getting hit with the fall out from that too.
Aw, Kerm, I wouldn’t want you to hurt yourself! Please – don’t read Penigma. As of July 1, our stat counter service indicated that readership had tripled since October, so one less won’t bother me at all. I’d rather know you were comfortably unchallenged by ideas that were outside your ideology.
I did just this morning ask Uggen, the prof at the U of MN, for an interview. Fingers crossed for a yes!
In the meantime, though, I did do my part to forward Bachmann and Pawlenty media clips on this, the links to the studies, the claims of the MN majority, and some of print media coverage to my favorite broadcasters, in hopes this will hit the national press very soon. It could make a great story – MN right wing pols misrepresent academic studies, claiming voter fraud and calling for DOJ investigation without cause. Sweet!

Thank you Mitch – would never have found all that without the prod from you.

“our stat counter service indicated that readership had tripled”
Coincidentally, the number of contributors to Pesmegma has also tripled since October.
July 16th, 2010 at 10:57 am
Could it be that Bachmann, Pawlenty, and Fox News are making claims and calling for an investigation because Ritchie didn’t/won’t do his job?
“our stat counter service indicated that readership had tripled since October” There’s three of you now?
Reading lefty blogs is like……unicorns and glitter?
July 16th, 2010 at 11:16 am
In what way could the investigation “blow up” in their faces? How could it be bad?
July 16th, 2010 at 11:33 am

Congrats! Double digits are always encouraging.

Maybe he’d probably be more comfortable if he were unchallenged by alternate definitions of logic and reason? *shrug*
I know I’m more comfortable reading something written with a direction and a point.
July 16th, 2010 at 11:36 am
Actually Foot, the number of authors doubled since October, from three to six. We have an attorney specializing in immigration law who has agreed to write for us as our seventh, but he hasn’t had the time. Two of the current six are conservatives btw. Eight I suppose, if you count former Rocky Mountain News editorial cartoonist, Ed Stein.

Up to 27, then? Good for you, Mrs. Teasdale!

Funny. I am bombarded by ideas that “challenge my ideology” on a daily basis. I do this unusual thing when that happens. I apply critical thought to them. I wish more people would.

No kidding, Kerm. Liberal memes don’t vary much in subject matter, but they are always available in bulk.

Reading lefty blogs is like reading lefty blogs, and nothing else.
July 16th, 2010 at 12:17 pm
Pesmegma
See, now that’s the kind of thing that really hits home how much I miss KAR.
July 16th, 2010 at 12:58 pm
Lefty blogs are hard to read because they can’t make proper arguments. They use ad hominem, correlation=causality, etc. They do things like argue that felons do not favor one party over the other, but that not allowing felons to vote unfairly disadvantages the Democrats.
July 16th, 2010 at 1:04 pm
“Actually Foot, blah blah blah blah blah”
You’re statmeter sez Penisma has had 10,212 visitors from whenever it was installed.
That was KAR’s monthly traffic for several months after I shuttered the blog.
But your cute little blog is cute.
July 16th, 2010 at 1:09 pm
Well we all loved the Kool Aid Guy mascot. It was so cheerful.

KAR in reruns is better than pretty much any leftyblog.

Hmmm. Seems Peev made #1 on my Worst Political Figures of 2006 list, before I was ever even aware of him:

Foot, when is the MilF? And just FYI to all lefties out there, the vast majority of normal minnesotans aren’t even paying attention to the governors race yet. By the time Dayton is the nominee this will be forgotten. Just like DUI-gate.

The rules on PenisBlog are not followed by hypocrite Peni herself.
.
Pesmegma. Good one, foot!
.
“…put another nail in the coffin of the idea of Isreal -“ penigma
Is that your final solution, peevee?
