Metaphor Alert

By Mitch Berg

Not every “blue” government does it all the time.

But eventually, one way or the other, one metaphor or another, this mechanism or that, this is blue governance in action.

“But eventually, one way or the other, sooner or later, one metaphor or another, this mechanism or that, this is government in action.”

    FTFY

  2. Blade Nzimande Says:

And depending on your point if view, it’s good government, or bad.

I think Pinochet tossing screaming commies out of helicopters was an inspired work of art. Conversely, I think what’s going on in Canada is the work of one, craven faggot.

  3. Mammuthus Primigenesis Says:

The vaccine can neither prevent you from getting covid nor from passing it on to others. This means that a vax mandate is not a public health measure, or if it is, so is your diet, how much exercise you get, how much alcohol you consume, etc.

  4. Blade Nzimande Says:

    More government in action:

    https://www.nytimes.com/2022/02/20/health/covid-cdc-data.html

But 75IQ chuds will still cite the CDC as a credible source until someone changes the punch card in their head.

$10 says NPR jumps in to defend “science”.

  5. Blade Nzimande Says:

MP, if in a year or so, it turns out the bug juice has debilitating side effects, it will cost productive pure bloods billions every year to care for them. The screeching for “free” health care will dial up to 11…awful possibility.

But if the side effects are fatal, will that be a bad thing? Sure, we’ll lose some valuable people that were forced to shoot the juice, but there are always innocents taken in war, and think of the enemies that will have voluntarily stepped off the planet.

  6. jdm Says:

In case you were curious, this vaccine fiasco is repeated over and over. Ever since smallpox – yes, the good vaccine. The smallpox pandemic response was eerily similar to COVID. The whole nine yards. Bad science. Mandates. Ever increasing enforcement. Protests. Everything.

  7. Emery Incognito Says:

Is it really too much to ask that people who want to comment upon Canada’s emergency laws maybe consider reading those laws?
    https://www.canada.ca/en/department-justice/news/2022/02/canadas-emergencies-act.html

  8. Emery Incognito Says:

And if you find reading plain text irksome, the government of Canada actually made an *infographic* explaining the Emergency Act.
    https://www.justice.gc.ca/eng/csj-sjc/ea_infog-lu_infog.html

  9. jdm Says:

^ Yes, just ignore the manifestations of that oh-so reasonable text. Like those “Mounted Police in Ottawa Trampling Protesters”, the bank account confiscations, the RCMP threats that it’s “Time for the protesters to hear our jackboots on the ground”, and doxxing protestors.

Has the Emergency Powers act been actually approved, or is Parliament going to be closed again?

  10. Emery Incognito Says:

Anti-vaxxers vs horses. Horses win. See ivermectin works!

Canada’s Parliament can end emergency any time by vote. Trudeau does not have a majority in Parliament and cannot control it.

  11. jdm Says:

^ Pretty cold-blooded. It becomes easier to understand “Pinochet tossing screaming commies out of helicopters” the longer this pandemic lasts.

  12. Greg Says:

File this under “HowTo start a civil war”

From National Post: Complacent Canada is changing — and our politicians haven’t a clue

New Democratic Party Leader Jagmeet Singh made the answer to that pretty clear when he announced his willingness to grant the government the extraordinary powers it sought to clear the laneways around Wellington Street, but stipulated they must never be used against “Indigenous land defenders, climate change activists, workers fighting for fairness.”

  13. Mammuthus Primigenesis Says:

There is a law of diminishing returns at work here. Getting 50% of people vaxxed is easy, getting 50% of the remainder vaxxed will be more difficult, etc., until you reach a point where getting the next marginal vaccination is worth less than the political cost of doing so.
    Trudeau is mad.
In June of 2020, radical left rioters reached the gates of the white house prompting the secret service to move the president into a bunker. “Protesters reportedly threw ‘bricks, rocks, bottles, fireworks and other items'[4] as well as ‘rocks, urine and alcohol'[5] at Secret Service agents injuring over 60 of them, including 11 hospitalized and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.[6]”
The rioters also set Saint John’s church, across from the white house, on fire.
When Trump used federal riot cops against the protesters, he was accused by almost all of the American Left and the US media of being an “authoritarian.”
These people now have nothing but praise for Trudeau using riot cops to rout peaceful protesters in Ottawa.

  14. Emery Incognito Says:

There are evidently many people who believe that preventing the enforcement of traffic laws in downtown Ottawa is a vital US national interest — but that the first major-power war in Europe since 1945 is no big deal one way or the other.

If you’re more angry at Canada than Russia, something is deeply wrong.

  15. bosshoss429 Says:

Emery, you ignorant twit. WTF is the difference right now between Trudeau and Putin?!

On another note, over in British Columbia, axe wielding eco terrorists attacked a pipeline, shoot flares at workers, causing over $1 million in damage. They swung their axes at the windshields on trucks, including one that had workers inside, then tried to set it on fire. Authorities called a well planned and organized attack. Yet, Trudeau and his administration are silent, just like the the rest of the leftist scum that decried horses being used at the southern U.S. border. But hey, loser, keep up your support for ruthless dictatorships.

  16. Emery Incognito Says:

@BS429 — One of the reasons to study history is to furnish your mind with a wider inventory of analogies than everything = Third Reich

  17. Blade Nzimande Says:

New Democratic Party Leader Jagmeet Singh

There’s 1/2 the problem, right there.

  18. Mammuthus Primigenesis Says:

On this very web site, back in April, 2020, I predicted that the lockdowns would lead to civil unrest by June.
Right on time, on May 26, cities around the US and soon around the world, erupted in violent riots.
So I was right about that.
On the other hand, Emery was wrong about the Brexit vote, wrong about Hillary winning “in a land slide” over Trump, and woefully wrong about the “Russian collusion” hoax.
Tell us again, Emery, how the Mueller report reversed the presumption of innocence and promised that it could have found evidence if it could continue its investigation for all of eternity.
Only a fool thinks a deluded troll with a 3rd rate intellect has anything worthwhile to say.

  19. Greg Says:

Uh……Something to reflect on before closing or restricting access to the Canadian border because of Covid-19.

Canadian geese, like many bird species, carry Covid-19.

And uh……about 5 million of them will be heading for the border next month.

  20. Blade Nzimande Says:

the government of Canada actually made an *infographic* explaining the Emergency Act.

75IQ chuds will still cite the government as a credible source until someone changes the punch card in their head.

Canada’s Parliament can end emergency any time by vote.

Not when the degenerate in charge shuts it down, you blithering idiot.

CANADA: TRUDEAU SHUTS DOWN PARLIAMENT, IN NAME OF THREATS TO SECURITY

    https://www.fromrome.info/2022/02/19/canada-trudeau-shuts-down-parliament-in-name-of-threats-to-security/

  21. Emery Incognito Says:

A standing committee of Parliament reviews every emergency act of government in real time.
Any act of government under emergency law is reviewable by courts under Canadian charter of rights. The present emergency law was enacted by a Conservative government precisely to set limits to the emergency powers used by the elder Trudeau in 1970.

Compare and contrast Canada’s emergency law to the Florida anti-riot law signed by DeSantis that makes it a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison to deface a historical plaque.

  22. bosshoss429 Says:

    Seriously, Emery?!
There have been no riots in either Ottawa or Windsor, so your point is, as usual, worthless.

I’m glad that you recognize that Canada’s government has become exactly like the Third Reich. The sad part is that you and your ilk support fascism.

  23. Mammuthus Primigenesis Says:

Well, if you like it so much, you should go back to Canada, Emery.
Amazing, isn’t it, how many icebacks there are in Florida.

  24. Mammuthus Primigenesis Says:

I can see why Emery voted for Biden, tho. They both like to start fights that they cannot win.

  25. Emery Incognito Says:

Regarding your ‘expert observations’ on Covid-19: everyone who confuses correlation with causation eventually ends up dead.

  26. jdm Says:

^ So, being a True Covidian, you won’t die? Ever?

  27. justplainangry Says:

But hey, don’t worry, OPD put a statement that the horse involved in the incident was not hurt. Oh, and they also said that the person leapt from a scooter into the path of the horse. Oh, and police officers are now being investigated for celebrating trampling over protesters on twitter. Third reich indeed.

  28. Emery Incognito Says:

I see that ‘masks don’t work’ has become Woolly’s mantra, repeated as if it is just an obvious fact. Yet it is very implausible to claim that masks have no effect on an airborne respiratory virus, which is basically what masks were made for.
    https://www.deseret.com/coronavirus/2022/1/12/22881114/do-masks-really-prevent-omicron-heres-what-we-know-covid-n95-risk

You are now hereby invited to reply with your favorite scientific study and/or blog post by a crank insisting that masks are useless.

  29. Blade Nzimande Says:

Although his affliction is below average cognitive abilities, rather than corrupt politics, rAT Emery demonstrates why decent society barely notices when unwholesome characters are tossed, screaming, out of helicopters.

  30. jdm Says:

I came across this over the weekend. Sound like someone around here?

It’s easier to understand the communist if you think about him like a robot. He doesn’t really “think” in the traditional sense of the word. All “thoughts” comes from the hive mind.

He can lie, insult, or change the subject. But those are the limits of his software.

  31. Blade Nzimande Says:

    > Posts inane comment
    > Warrants his comment by citing an unknown crank insisting on some backwater blog that masks are useful.
    > Posts “You are now hereby invited to reply with your favorite scientific study and/or blog post by a crank insisting that masks are useless.”

If rAT is not the stupidest commentator ever to darken these threads, I cannot tell the difference.

  32. Blade Nzimande Says:

jdm: Add low IQ and it’s rAT, “To a T”

  33. Blade Nzimande Says:

When I decide it’s time to wear a mask, it won’t be to filter out micro-bugs.

  34. Joe Doakes Says:

EI invited us to read the text of the Act. I did. Unlike the linked Justice Department summary and info-graphic, I could not find the word “blockade.” And to the point of Mitch’s post, I could not find specific authorization to trample people in wheelchairs. Odd.

  35. jdm Says:

There’ll be plenty of time to add the word “blockade” and authorizing the attack on (indigenous) people in wheelchairs, Trudeau and Freeland are working on transforming the temporary to permanent.

  36. Emery Incognito Says:

Trudeau is accountable to elected representatives, Canadian courts, and ultimately the people of Canada. Putin kills the people who try to hold him accountable. He’s launched wars that have killed thousands. What is jpa even talking about here? Canada wouldn’t invade your bathroom without apologizing first. There’s just no comparison.

  37. jdm Says:

^ Trudeau Decides He’s Not Done Cosplaying as a Dictator. I am aware of your reading/comprehension difficulties, but there also videos there from both Trudeau and Freeland. They’re not giving up any of their powers.

  38. Emery Incognito Says:

^ Polls suggest that Canadian public opinion is closely divided on Trudeau’s emergency actions. He’s got a small majority behind him for now —but probably only for now. Say what you will about Trudeau— Canadian democracy and Canadian freedom remain secure, robust, and lively.

  39. Mammuthus Primigenesis Says:

^You can tell because their premier seized emergency powers and had his police trample peaceful protesters.
Also he unilaterally ordered the protesters bank accounts frozen!
One thing about good ol’ Emery. The more certain he is of a thing, the more likely it is that he will be proven wrong.
And he never tires of being wrong. Never.

  40. Emery Incognito Says:

When Trudeau’s father invoked emergency powers in 1970 to combat a terrorist cell in Quebec, public opinion backed him at first. But perceived abuses of power swung opinion against him, and his party suffered serious losses in the next federal election of 1972.

  41. bikebubba Says:

Gonna help you out here, Emery. The first sentence in the infographic says that the Emergencies Act is only for cases where it could not be dealt with with other law.

So unless Canada has no laws against obstructing public highways and such, which I highly doubt, the act does not apply and Trudeau’s actions are illegal. It’s that simple.

  42. Emery Incognito Says:

Canada’s Parliament will vote today on the Emergency Act: which is a first opportunity to end the emergency if MPs so wish. Trudeau says he’ll regard vote as a confidence measure — meaning that if he loses, his government will resign and an election will be called. Trudeau’s party lacks a majority in the Canadian Federal House of Commons, so he’ll need cross-partisan support to uphold the emergency and stay in office.

If Parliament does approve the emergency and does vote confidence in Trudeau’s government, Trudeau next must organize a special committee of MPs and Senators to review his actions.

Even if MPs vote with Trudeau this time, they can still vote to void any individual emergency measure if they want.

  43. Joe Doakes Says:

It must be humiliating for Blackface Trudeau to realize he’s not even as smart as Little Timmy Walz. At least when Walz suspended the Constitution, he had a majority in the legislature to back up his dictatorial actions.

I certainly hope the T-Dog gets his vote of no confidence. I hope he actually does stand for election. No time to organize a huge mail in fraud campaign, the result could be interesting.

  44. Blade Nzimande Says:

Well, what do you know? The dimwit is right; Canadian democracy and Canadian freedom remain secure, robust, and lively. At least in Francophone Canada.

Trollbots are really busy setting out strawmen today. Well, when you got nothing else you gotta do what the masters tell you.

  46. Blade Nzimande Says:

“On Tuesday, plans were announced [in Quebec] to begin removing vaccine passport requirements in stages, with the process completed by March 14.”

Truckers can traverse the border and step over the pouting punk in Ottawa. Leftist degenerates: #sad

  47. justplainangry Says:

BN, he dare not say bad word against QB. That would be racissssss…

  48. golfdoc50 Says:

The point is this: emergency powers in The USA, Canada, probably a few other western democracies are never used against protected classes. Did the indians (feathered) who toppled the Columbus statue or blocked a lawful pipeline suffer any government strong arming? Of course not. When Trump issued a travel ban restricting entry from countries known for exporting terrorism he was pilloried for being islamophobic and lawsuits promptly filed to open the borders.

  49. Emery Incognito Says:

Important speech by Michael Chong one of Canada’s most thoughtful MPs

Chong argues powerfully that the emergency act was unnecessary — because Canadian governments already had the power to freeze bank accounts used to fund illegal activity.

  50. jdm Says:

Thinking that vote last evening was cause for celebration among those who look to Canada as a way to deal with those whose politics aren’t appropriate. What’s that? Two? Three more years of authoritarian rule, broken up into 30 day fragments between votes to renew. It gets easier after the first one… maybe they’ll just dispense with them after a year and perhaps even the scheduled election in 2025 (isn’t that right?).
